Air Algérie Flight 2208
Air Algérie Flight 2208 was a cargo flight between Algiers-Houari Boumediene Airport, Algiers, Algeria, and Frankfurt Airport, Germany. On 13 August 2006, the Lockheed L-100 operating the flight crashed in Northern Italy as a result of an autopilot malfunction. The aircraft struck the ground in a sparsely populated area after a very steep and rapid descent, narrowly avoiding crashing into a highly populated area. The crew of three on board were killed in the accident; there were no passengers, nor were there injuries or property damage on the ground. Accident The 25-year-old aircraft, a Lockheed L-100-30 Hercules, registration 7T-VHG, was operating a cargo service between Algiers-Houari Boumediene Airport and Frankfurt Airport as Flight 2208; it was flying over Italian soil at when it began descending for unknown reasons. Betty Curtis
Roberta Corti, better known by her stage name Betty Curtis (21 March 1936 – 15 June 2006), was an Italian singer active from 1957 to 2004. Curtis grew up in the Zone 8 of Milan's borough Cagnola. She started singing in night clubs at an early age and was discovered by Teddy Reno in 1958. Her debut single was a rendition of With All My Heart performed with the Franco Pisano Orchestra. Curtis' song " Al di là", performed together with Luciano Tajoli, won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1961. The ''Corriere della Sera'' (; en, "Evening Courier") is an Italian daily newspaper published in Milan with an average daily circulation of 410,242 copies in December 2015. First published on 5 March 1876, ''Corriere della Sera'' is one of Italy's oldest newspapers and is Italy's most read newspaper. Its masthead has remained unchanged since its first edition in 1876. Enzo Siciliano
Enzo Siciliano (27 May 1934 – 9 June 2006) was an Italian writer, playwright, literary critic and intellectual. Siciliano was born in Rome. He was collaborator of Alberto Moravia, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Elsa Morante and many other famous writers in the 1950s and 1960s. __NOTOC__ From 1996 to 1998 he was President of RAI (Italian State Television). Ferdinando Tacconi (December 27, 1922 – May 11, 2006) was an Italian comics artist. Tacconi was born in Milan. He earned a degree in Applied Arts from Castello Sforzesco. After collaborating as an illustrator to the magazines ''Grazia'' and ''Confidenze'', Tacconi entered the comics field after World War II, debuting with the comic series ''Sciuscià'' and later working on a number of comics in Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. For Junior Express, he worked on Journey into Space and Jeff Hawke. Alida Maria Laura, ''Freiin'' Altenburger von Marckenstein-Frauenberg (31 May 1921 – 22 April 2006), better known by her stage name Alida Valli (or simply Valli), was an Italian actress who appeared in more than 100 films in a 70-year career, spanning from the 1930s to the early 2000s. Trebisonda "Ondina" Valla (20 May 1916 – 16 October 2006) was an Italians, Italian female athletics (sport), athlete, and the first Italian woman to ever win an Olympic Games, Olympic gold medal. She won it in the 80 m hurdling, hurdles event at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, after establishing the new world record during the semi-final.
