2006 Women's Rugby World Cup
The 2006 Women's Rugby World Cup (officially IRB Rugby World Cup 2006 Canada) took place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tournament began on 31 August and ended on 17 September 2006. The 2006 tournament was the third World Cup approved by the IRB, the previous two being held 2002 in Spain and in the Netherlands, in 1998. The Black Ferns of New Zealand won the 2006 World Cup, defeating England in the final, as they had in 2002. It was New Zealand's third successive title. The semi-finals were also direct repeats of the 2002 tournament – in fact five of the top six places in the final rankings were unchanged. Elsewhere the USA advanced from 7th in 2002 to 5th, and Ireland climbed from 14th to 8th while Australia (5th to 7th), Spain (8th to 9th), and Samoa (9th to 10th) slipped down. Heather Moyse
Heather Moyse (born July 23, 1978) is a Canadian athlete and two-time Olympic gold medalist, representing Canada in international competition as a bobsledder, rugby union player, and track cyclist and competing at the Canadian intercollegiate level in rugby, soccer and track and field. Awards Moyse was a two-time Female Athlete of the Year at Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside, Prince Edward Island where she competed in soccer, basketball, rugby and track and field. A graduate of the University of Waterloo kinesiology program, she was inducted into that school's Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. Moyse received the Lieutenant-Governor's Award as P.E.I.’s outstanding athlete in 2006 and 2010, was named Prince Edward Island's Senior Female Athlete of the Year for 2005, 2006 and 2010 and has won ten Sport P.E.I. awards in total since 1998 . Molson
The Molson Brewery is a Canadian based brewery company based in Montreal which was established in 1786 by the Molson family. In 2005, Molson merged with the Adolph Coors Company to become Molson Coors. Clare Daniels
Clare Daniels (born ) is an English international rugby union referee and is the world's most capped female Test referee. She has played scrum-half for Tor RFC in Glastonbury for a few years in the late 1990s before the team disbanded and Daniels decided to take part in a training course run by the Somerset Rugby Referees' Society. Her international debut was on 2 July 2005, when she refereed the Canada Cup match between Canada and Scotland. Sarah Corrigan
Sarah Corrigan (born 1980) is an Australian international rugby union referee. While going to Daramalan College in Canberra and playing rugby sevens, she decided to do a referee course, encouraged by her father. After the first appearance in a local under 11’s match in 1998, Corrigan received the B.A.R. Trophy by the ACT Rugby Referee's Association to the most improved senior referee in 2002 and became the first woman to officiate an ACT Premier Rugby First Grade match. Malcolm Changleng
Malcolm Changleng (born 25 April 1970) is a Scottish former professional rugby union referee. He is the identical twin brother of fellow referee David Changleng. Changleng began his rugby career as a player with Gala RFC, playing at fullback in the team that won the 1999 Scottish Cup, along with Scottish internationals Gregor Townsend and Chris Paterson. He also represented the Scottish Borders in the 1996–97 Heineken Cup, scoring a try in a 34–25 defeat at home to Leinster on 26 October 1996. After retiring as a player, Changleng followed his brother into refereeing. CFBR-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting an active rock format at 100.3 FM in Edmonton, Alberta. The station uses its on-air brand name ''100.3 The Bear'' and is owned by Bell Media.
