The 2006 Westminster City Council election took place on 4 May 2006 to elect members of Westminster City Council in London, England. The whole council was up for election and the Conservative Party remained in control of the council with no seat changes between the Conservatives and Labour. Robert Davis (British Politician)
Robert Jonathan Davis (born 27 September 1957) is a British lawyer and Conservative Party politician. He was deputy leader of the Westminster City Council, and chairman of its planning committee for 17 years. He served as Lord Mayor of Westminster 1996-1997 and also chaired the London Mayors' Association between 1998 and 2016. Early life Robert Davis was born on 27 September 1957. He is the son of Gerald Davis (died 2000) and Pamela Davis née Lee (died 1997). He was educated at Christ's College, Finchley, followed by Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and Wolfson College, Cambridge, after which he trained as a solicitor at the College of Law in London's Lancaster Gate. He was admitted as a solicitor in October 1983. Nicola Jane Aiken (née Durbin; born 4 February 1969) is a British Conservative Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cities of London and Westminster since 2019. Dick Taverne
Dick Taverne, Baron Taverne, (born 18 October 1928) is a British politician and life peer who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Lincoln from 1962 to 1974. A member of the Liberal Democrats, he was a Labour MP until his deselection in 1972, following which he resigned his seat and won the subsequent by-election in 1973 as a Democratic Labour candidate. Taverne's 1973 victory in Lincoln was short-lived; despite retaining his seat at the February 1974 general election, Labour regained the seat at the October 1974 general election, by the future cabinet minister Margaret Beckett. Simon Milton (politician)
Sir Simon Henry Milton (2 October 1961 – 11 April 2011) was a British Conservative politician. He lately served as London's Deputy Mayor for Policy and Planning, and before that was a leader of Westminster City Council and Chairman of the Local Government Association. Milton was a director of Ian Greer Associates, a parliamentary lobbying company "with close links to the Tory party" which was at the centre of the "cash-for-questions" scandal in the 1990s. 2010 Westminster City Council Election
Elections for the City of Westminster London borough were held on 6 May 2010. The 2010 general election and other local elections took place on the same day. In London council elections the entire council is elected every four years, as opposed to some local elections, in which one councillor is elected every year for three of the four years. The Conservatives retained control of the council, and all wards continued with the same party representation as at the previous borough election in 2006. Labour won back the Church Street seat they had lost to the Conservatives at a 2008 by-election.
