Saanich Commonwealth Place
Saanich Commonwealth Place is a recreation center located west of the Patricia Bay Highway and north of Royal Oak Drive in Saanich, British Columbia in Canada. It was originally constructed in 1993 for the August 1994 Commonwealth Games, and is currently a prominent facility in the community. In 2002 the original weightroom was completely renovated and it re-opened for operation in 2004. Among the center's other features are a full-size gymnasium (7000 square feet), a 50-meter competition pool, 4.5 meter deep dive tank with 1-, 3-, 5-, 7.5-, and 10-meter boards, and the Bruce Hutchison Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library. The building's construction is unique; it features a red dome in the shape of a slightly flattened square pyramid over the main pool area. Elizabeth Beisel
Elizabeth Lyon Beisel (born August 18, 1992) is an American competition swimmer who specializes in backstroke and individual medley events. Beisel placed second in the 400m individual medley at the 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials, qualifying for her third Olympic team. She has won a total of nine medals in major international competition, four gold, one silver, and four bronze spanning the Olympics, World Aquatics, and the Pan Pacific championships. Beisel competed in the 200-meter backstroke and 400-meter individual medley events at the 2008 Summer Olympics, placing fifth and fourth, respectively, in the world. Kristen Caverly
Kristen Joanne Caverly (born September 20, 1984) is an American former competitive swimmer and model who represented the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Caverly attended Stanford University, majoring in Psychology in the graduation class of 2006. Caverly is a 4-time All American, 3-time national champion, and Pac-10 champion in swimming. Caverly won a silver medal on the international stage at the 2003 Pan American Games in the 400-meter individual medley. Caverly competed in the 200m Breaststroke at the 2005 FINA World Championships and placed sixth in the final. Kelly Stefanyshyn
Kelly Stefanyshyn (born July 6, 1982) is a Canadian competitive swimmer and backstroke specialist who represented her native country at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Stefanyshyn was a member of Canada's sixth-place team in the women's 4x100-metre medley relay. Individually, she also finished eighth in the women's 200-metre backstroke, and competed in the semifinals of the 100-metre backstroke. Stefanyshyn was previously a three-medal-winner at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. She won a gold medal in the 100-metre backstroke, a silver in the 4x100-metre medley relay, and a bronze in the 200-metre backstroke.
