The 2006 Ontario Scott Tournament of Hearts was held January 30-February 4 at the Fort Frances Curling Club in Fort Frances, Ontario. Krista Scharf's rink from Thunder Bay, Ontario won her first provincial title. Fort Frances, Ontario
Fort Frances is a town in, and the seat of, Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The population as of the 2016 census was 7,739. Fort Frances is a popular fishing destination. It hosts the annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship. Located on the international border with the United States where Rainy Lake narrows to become Rainy River, it is connected to International Falls, Minnesota by the Fort Frances–International Falls International Bridge. The town is the fourth-largest community in Northwestern Ontario after Thunder Bay, Kenora and Dryden. The Fort Frances Paper Mill was formerly the main employer and industry in the town until its closure in January 2014. Marilyn Bodogh
Marilyn C. Bodogh (also known as Marilyn Darte) (born March 9, 1955) is a Canadian curler, colour commentator and political candidate. Bodogh is best known for her two World Curling Championships in 1986 and 1996 and her two Tournament of Hearts championships to go with them. Biography Born in Toronto, Ontario, she moved to St. Catharines with her family when she was nine years old. Her first job was working with her family's lumber company. At 22, she opened a flower shop. Through marriage, she would later become co-owner of the George Darte Funeral Home. In 1980, Bodogh played third for her sister, Christine Bodogh, representing Ontario at the 1980 Canadian Ladies Curling Association Championship. In 1986, she returned to the tournament, this time known as the Scott Tournament of Hearts. Bodogh, now a skip, won the 1986 Hearts defeating the defending champion Linda Moore rink. Christina "Chrissy" Cadorin (born October 19, 1980) is a Canadian curler from Thornhill, Ontario. She currently plays third on Team Cathy Auld. Career Cadorin was born in North York, Ontario. As a junior curler, Cadorin won two Junior Mixed junior mixed titles, in 1999 playing lead on a team skipped by John Morris and in 2001 playing third on a team skipped by Sean St. Amand. In university, Cadorin was a member of the Laurier Golden Hawks curling team. In 2006, Cadorin joined Team Jenn Hanna, playing third on the team. Sutton is a suburban community located nearly 2 km south of Lake Simcoe in Ontario, Canada. The community was formerly a village but is now part of the Town of Georgina after amalgamation with it and North Gwillimbury in 1971. The Black River runs on the north end of the downtown. Highway 48 goes just south of the downtown. Sutton has a population of just over 6,000 people. Sutton is located about 1 hour north of Toronto. Kathy Brown (born July 12, 1960) is an American dance and house singer from South Carolina. Her credits include vocals on the songs "Turn Me Out (Turn to Sugar)" and "Strings of Life (Stronger on My Own)". Career Brown began singing in her local gospel choir. After joining the contemporary R&B group Sweet Cinnamon. Kathy met with New York-based producer David Shaw through a mutual friend.
