Men's European Volleyball League
The Men's European Volleyball League is a continental volleyball competition senior men's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). Created in 2004, the competition serves as a qualifying tournament for the FIVB World League (until 2017) and to its successor the FIVB Nations League since 2018. This event should not be confused with the other, more prestigious, continental competition for European national volleyball teams, the European Volleyball Championship. The European Volleyball Confederation (french: Confédération Européenne de Volleyball or ''CEV'') is the continental governing body for the sports of indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, and snow volleyball in Europe. Marko Klok (, born 14 March 1968 in Monnickendam, North Holland) is a volleyball player from the Netherlands, who represented his native country in two Summer Olympics, starting in 1992 in Barcelona, Spain. Nuri Şahin (; born January 1, 1980, in Tokat, Turkey) is a Turkish volleyball player. He is tall at , and plays as libero. He capped 155 times for the Turkey men's national volleyball team. As of 2012-13 season, Şahin plays for Halkbank Ankara and wears number 5. He studied at Marmara University. Born on January 1, 1980, in Tokat, Şahin began playing volleyball in primary school. In 1994, he went professional at Eczacıbaşı. He was then a member of Galatasaray, Emlakbank, Arçelik, Fenerbahçe and Arkas Spor Izmir before he transferred in July 2012 to Halkbank Ankara. Nuri Şahin is married since 2006 and has a son, Alp Toğan Şahin, born in 2011.
