2006 IAAF World Athletics Final – Results
These are the results of the 2006 IAAF World Athletics Final, which took place in at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion in Stuttgart, Germany between September 9–10. The year's top seven athletes, based on their points ranking of the 2006 IAAF World Athletics Tour, qualified to compete in each event, with an extra four athletes selected for races of 1500 metres and above. Asafa Powell
Asafa Powell, CD (born 23 November 1982) is a retired Jamaican sprinter who specialised in the 100 metres. He set the 100 metres world record twice, between June 2005 and May 2008 with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds. Powell has consistently broken the 10-second barrier in competition, with his personal best of 9.72 s ranking fourth on the all-time list of men's 100-metre athletes. As of 1 September 2016, Powell has broken the ten-second barrier more times than anyone else—97 times. He currently holds the world record for the 100-yard dash with a time of 9.09 s, set on 27 May 2010 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. At the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, he won a gold medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay. Stephanie Durst
Stephanie Durst (born April 11, 1982) is an American sprinter. She was a 13-time All-American at Louisiana State University (LSU) and finished her career among the top ten all-time in the 60-meter dash and both the indoor and outdoor 200 meters. She also helped lead the Lady Tigers to four National Titles - three indoor and one outdoor. Following her collegiate career she made her professional debut in 2003. Since beginning her professional career she has set personal bests in the 100 meters (11.09 Indianapolis 2007), and 300 meters (36.64 Glasgow 2007). At the 2006 World Athletics Final she made her international debut, finishing sixth in the 100 meters and fifth in the 200 meters. LoLo Jones
Lori Susan "Lolo" Jones (born August 5, 1982) is an American hurdler and bobsledder who specializes in the 60-meter and 100-meter hurdles. She won three NCAA titles and garnered 11 All-American honors while at Louisiana State University. She won indoor national titles in 2007, 2008, and 2009 in the 60-meter hurdles, with gold medals at the World Indoor Championship in 2008 and 2010. In bobsled, she won the 2021 IBSF World Championships as the brakewoman for Kaillie Humphries. She was favored to win the 100-meter hurdles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but tripped on the penultimate hurdle, finishing in seventh place. Me'Lisa Barber is an American Sprint (running), sprinter. After graduating from University of South Carolina, she was the 2005 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, 2005 USA Outdoor Champion in the 100 metres and the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2006 World Indoor Champion in the 60 metres. Shawn Crawford
Shawn Crawford (born January 14, 1978) is a retired American sprint athlete. He competed in the 100 meters and 200 meters events. In the 200 meter sprint, Crawford won gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics and silver at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He originally finished 4th in the race but after the 2nd and 3rd-place winners were disqualified, he moved up to a silver. On April 17, 2013, Crawford was suspended for two years for missing out-of-competition drug tests.
