2006 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup Season
The 2006 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup was the eighth edition of the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, the second held under this name. It was run over ten rounds, starting on 23 April in Valencia, Spain, and ending on 8 October in Magny-Cours, France. The riders' championship was won by Alessandro Polita on a Suzuki GSX-R1000 K6 entered by Celani Suzuki Italia. His main rivals throughout the season were Claudio Corti aboard a Yamaha Team Italia's R1 and two MV Agusta riders, Luca Scassa and Ayrton Badovini. These four Italian riders scored all the pole positions except for the Valencia round and all the race victories. The manufacturers' championship was won by Suzuki, while the season also saw the first victory for MV Agusta at world level since the 1976 German motorcycle Grand Prix. 2006 Superbike World Championship
The 2006 Superbike World Championship was the nineteenth FIM Superbike World Championship season. The season started on 25 February at Losail, and finished on 8 October at Magny-Cours after 12 rounds and 24 races. The original season calendar issued by the FIM included a 13th round scheduled in South Africa on 22 October but the round was cancelled at the request of the series' promoter FGSport.South African Round Cancelled

Iván Silva (motorcyclist)
Iván Silva Alberola (born June 12, 1982 in Barcelona) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He races in the RFME Superstock 1000 Championship aboard a Suzuki GSX-R1000. Silva has made occasional substitute racing appearances in MotoGP. After appearing in 2005 he filled in for D'Antin at Donington Park and Brno in 2006, as their regular rider Alex Hofmann was filling in for Sete Gibernau on a works Ducati. Despite targeting a full-time ride for 2007, he remained in a testing role, but again raced for the team at Brno, this time replacing an injured Hofmann. He noted that "I am happy to have the possibility to run in MotoGP again, especially this year where we have at our disposal the best tyres and bike of the moment", although his performance disguised this fact – he finished last in every practice session and in qualifying, despite Casey Stoner taking pole on identical equipment. Sheridan Morais
Sheridan Morais (born 11 March 1985) is a motorcycle racer from South Africa. He has competed in the Superbike World Championship, the Supersport World Championship, the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup and the Endurance FIM World Championship. He competed in the Asia Road Race SS600 Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6 and completed his first ever road race as a wildcard for the German Penz13.com team in Frohburg in September 2019, as the team was sitting out of the first round of the FIM Endurance World Championship 2019/2020 season. In the previous season Morais and the Penz13.com team finished 5th in the EWC without even competing in the final race in Suzuka. Morais finished third in the 2022 Macau Grand Prix road race event, revived after the 2020 and 2021 events were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
