2005–06 Women's Asia Cup
The Women's Asia Cup in Pakistan in 2005–06 is the Asian Cricket Council Women's One Day International cricket tournament. The three teams which took part in the tournament were India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It was held between 28 December 2005 and 4 January 2006, in Pakistan. The matches were played at the National Stadium, Karachi and Karachi Gymkhana Ground. India won the final against Sri Lanka by 97 runs. Asian Cricket Council
The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Changing its name to the present in 1995. Until 2003, the headquarters of the council were rotated biennially amongst the presidents' and secretaries' home countries. Rumeli Anup Dhar (born 9 December 1983) is an Indian former cricketer who played as an all-rounder, batting right-handed and bowling right-arm medium. Sana Mir (born 5 January 1986) is a Pakistani cricket commentator and former cricketer who served as a captain of the Pakistan national women's cricket team in ODIs and T20Is. She played in 226 international matches, including 137 of those as captain of the side. She was the first bowler for Pakistan to take 100 wickets in WODIs. Amathagodage Don Hiroshi Abeysinghe (born 2 November 1978) is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer and internationally qualified cricket coach. International playing career As a player, Abeysinghe represented the Sri Lankan national team between 1999 and 2006. An all-rounder, Abeysinghe batted right-handed and bowled right-arm off-spin. Anjum Chopra (born 20 May 1977) is an Indian former cricketer and current cricket commentator. The first time she stepped onto the cricket ground was at the age of 9.
