2005–06 Washington State Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2005–06 Washington State Cougars men's basketball team represented Washington State University for the 2005–06 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by second-year head coach Dick Bennett, the Cougars were members of the Pacific-10 Conference and played their home games on campus at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, Washington. The Cougars were overall in the regular season and in conference play, last in the Seeded tenth in the conference tournament, the Cougars met seventh seed Oregon in the opening round. The Ducks had swept the regular season series and won the tournament game by eleven points. Bennett stepped down as head coach after the season and was succeeded by son Tony. Dick Bennett
Richard A. Bennett (born April 20, 1943) is an American former college basketball coach who is best known for building the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball program into a mid-major power and revitalizing the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the father of current Virginia Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett and former Northern Illinois women's basketball head coach Kathi Bennett. Early life Bennett was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He graduated from Ripon College in 1965 with a B.A. in education. At Ripon, Bennett played basketball (guard), football (halfback and return specialist), and baseball (third baseman) four years each. Oregon Ducks Men's Basketball
The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is an intercollegiate basketball program that competes in the NCAA Division I and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference, representing the University of Oregon.
