The 2005–06 Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represents Iowa State University during the 2005–06 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cyclones were coached by Wayne Morgan (basketball), Wayne Morgan, who was in his 3rd season. They played their home games at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa and competed in the Big 12 Conference. Wayne Morgan (basketball)
Wayne Morgan (born October 7, 1950) was the Iowa State University men's basketball coach from 2003 to 2006. He was Iowa State University's first African-American head basketball coach. Career Morgan was a coach at Syracuse under Jim Boeheim until 1996. He coached at California State University, Long Beach, Long Beach State for six seasons before accepting the head coaching position at Iowa State. In three years at Iowa State, Morgan had a combined record of 55-39, marking his record fourth to Larry Eustachy (72-26, two NCAA tournament appearances, one Elite eight appearance), Tim Floyd (69-29, twice second round of NCAA tourney), and Fred Hoiberg (62-39, two round of 32 NCAA tournament appearances) in the history of Iowa State University basketball coaches finishing their third year. Winterset is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Iowa. The population was 5,353 at the time of the 2020 census. Winterset is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area. It is the birthplace of actor John Wayne. History Winterset was platted during a cool spell in the summer of 1849. The name was originally to be "Summerset", but the unseasonable coldness made the commissioners reverse this to "Winterset". Webster City Community School District
The Webster City Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Webster City, Iowa. In 2012, the Webster City School District enrolled approximately 1600 students, with an estimated 700 receiving free or reduced lunch, 200 students on IEP's, 100 ELL students and a total staff of 248. Webster City is a city in Hamilton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 7,825 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Hamilton County. Webster City is known as 'Boone River Country', as the Boone River meanders along the east side of the city. History Webster City was originally called Newcastle by settlers of European descent. Under the latter name it was changed in 1854 by Wilson Brewer. In 1855, Walter C. Willson came to Newcastle. Willson was elected to the Iowa State House the next year and, with John F. Duncombe, crafted a bill to divide the very large Webster County in half.
