2005–06 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2005-06 season is the tenth in the history of the Glasgow Warriors as a professional side. Since the professional side began in 1996 it had used a warrior logo; with a warrior clutching a rugby ball in one hand - and in the other a Scottish targe ordained with a long steel spike originating from its central boss. The warrior is wearing a simple Spangenhelm conical peaked nasal helmet illustrating an early warrior from the Kingdom of Strathclyde. The warrior logo was formalised into Glasgow's name from this season onwards. The team was now officially known as Glasgow Warriors and formally competed as such. Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. In the 2014–15 season they won the Pro12 title and became the first Scottish team to win a major trophy in rugby union's professional era. The side is known for its fast, dynamic and attacking style of play, using offloads and quick rucks. Defensively the club prides itself on its 'Fortress Scotstoun' where the club play at home. Shade Munro
Donald Shade Munro (born 19 November 1966, Paisley, Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union player, who played at lock/second row. Playing He spent two stints in New Zealand, in 1987 he played for club side Greytown where he went on to represent the provincial team, Wairarapa Bush in a Ranfurly Shield Challenge against the mighty Auckland, which included 14 current All Blacks at the time. In Scotland he played for Eastwood High School (Newton Mearns) and subsequently all his club rugby for his beloved Glasgow High Kelvinside. where he played from 1984 to 1997. In 1989-90 he played for the famous unbeaten Glasgow District side that remained unbeaten all season. Dan Turner (rugby Union)
Dan Turner (born 9 February 1980) (also known as Otaihanga Dan, Diesel Turbo, Dulcet Tones, DT or the Detonator) is a New Zealand born Scotland A international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors at the Lock position. Gregor Hayter
Gregor Hayter (born 13 August 1976 in Scotland) is a Scotland, Scottish former rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors at the Rugby union positions#Lock, Lock position. He also previously played for Caledonia Reds and Edinburgh Rugby. He also spent five years in Italy playing for Crociati Parma Rugby FC and Rugby Viadana. Craig Peter Hamilton (born 1 September 1979, Dumfries) is a Scottish international rugby union player. He is a lock and currently plays at Whitley Bay Rockcliff RFC, Northumbria University Men's 1st XV and previously for Glasgow Warriors, Border Reivers, Edinburgh Rugby and French Second Division club Tarbes Pyrénées Rugby. Ben Prescott
Ben Prescott (born 31 July 1978 in Tripoli, Libya) is a Libyan born Scottish former rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors at the Tighthead Prop position. Amateur career Prescott played for Aberdeen GSFP. He also played for Blackrock College RFC when based in Ireland with Leinster in 2010. Professional career Prescott started playing for Glasgow Warriors in the 2001–02 season under Richie Dixon. Euan Murray
Euan Murray (born 7 August 1980) is a retired Scottish rugby union footballer, whose last club was Pau in the French Top 14. He started his career with Glasgow Warriors before playing for a number of clubs including Northampton Saints, Newcastle Falcons and Worcester Warriors. He also played for the Scotland national team. His usual position was tighthead prop and he was known as a strong scrummager. He is a fundamentalist Christian and throughout his career has decided not to play on Sundays. Lloyd Campbell-McBride (born 27 March 1982 in Australia) is a former rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors at the Loosehead Prop position. He was signed by Glasgow Warriors by coach Hugh Campbell on a short-term deal lasting for four months. This was a short-term deal to cover injury to Glasgow's Ben Prescott. Fergus Matthew Andrew Thomson (born 18 September 1983) is a Scottish rugby union hooker who plays for Glasgow Warriors. He was a member of the Scotland squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.
