2005 IAAF World Cross Country Championships – Senior Men's Race
The Senior men's race at the 2005 IAAF World Cross Country Championships was held at the Hippodrome Joseph Desjoyaux in Saint-Galmier near Saint-Étienne, France, on March 20, 2005. Reports of the event were given in ''The New York Times'', in the Herald, and for the IAAF. Complete results for individuals, for teams, medallists, and the results of British athletes who took part were published. IAAF
World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (from 1912 to 2001) and International Association of Athletics Federations (from 2001 to 2019, both abbreviated as the IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Included in its charge are the standardization of rules and regulations for the sports, certification of athletic facilities, recognition and management of world records, and the organisation and sanctioning of athletics competitions, including the World Athletics Championships. The organisation's president is Sebastian Coe of the United Kingdom, who was elected in 2015 and re-elected unopposed in 2019 for a further four years. Boniface Kiprop
Boniface Toroitich Kiprop (born 12 October 1985 in Kapchorwa District) is a track and field athlete from Uganda. His older brother Martin Toroitich is also a runner, who has featured at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. Boniface Kiprop is coached by Giuseppe Giambrone and he is actually making part of the Tuscany Training Camp project. Career At the 2001 African Junior Championships in Mauritius, he competed in the 5000 and 10000 metres, finishing 1st and 2nd respectively. Two years later the championships were held in Cameroon, and he won both events. At the 2003 All-Africa Games he finished 4th in 10000 metres and 6th in 5000 metres. At the 2003 World Championships in Paris he missed the 5000 metres final. However, he won a bronze medal in the 10,000 m at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games. Tesfayohannes Mesfen
Tesfayohannes Mesfin (born November 24, 1974) is an Eritrean runner who specializes in the half marathon and cross-country running. He has several top-25 placements in global competitions. At the 2004 World Cross Country Championships he finished 22nd in the long race and also won a bronze medal with the Eritrean team. He followed up with a 20th place at the 2005 World Cross Country Championships and a ninth place at the 2006 World Cross Country Championships. He finished 21st at the 2004 World Half Marathon Championships, 12th at the 2005 World Half Marathon Championships (team silver medal) and 21st at the 2006 World Road Running Championships (team silver medal). In track competitions he has a sixth place from the 10,000 metres at the 2006 African Championships. Ali Al-Dawoodi
ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The issue of his succession caused a major rift between Muslims and divided them into Shia and Sunni groups. Ali was assassinated in the Grand Mosque of Kufa in 661 by the forces of Mu'awiya, who went on to found the Umayyad Caliphate.
