2005 Hockey East Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
The 2005 Hockey East Men's Ice Hockey Tournament was the 21st List of Hockey East Men's Ice Hockey Tournament champions, Tournament in the history of the conference. It was played between March 10 and March 19, 2005. Quarterfinal games were played at home team campus sites, while the final four games were played at the TD Garden, Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts, the home venue of the NHL, NHL's Boston Bruins. By winning the tournament Boston College Eagles men's ice hockey, Boston College received the Hockey East's automatic bid to the 2005 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Format The tournament featured three rounds of play. The team that finishes ninth in the conference is not eligible for tournament play. In the first round, the first and eighth seeds, the second and seventh seeds, the third seed and sixth seeds, and the fourth seed and fifth seeds played a Playoff format#Best-of-three playoff, best-of-three with the winner advancing to the semifinals. The 2004–05 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 3, 2004 and concluded with the 2005 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on April 9, 2005 at the Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This was the 58th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 111th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team. Chris Bourque
Christopher Ray Bourque (born January 29, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey forward. Originally drafted by the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), he has played 51 NHL games for the Capitals, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins. Playing career Bourque was born in Boston but grew up in Topsfield, Massachusetts, and graduated from Cushing Academy in 2004. While there, he was close friends with Keith Yandle. He was drafted 33rd overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, and played for the Portland Pirates and Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) before being called up to the NHL in November 2007. John Curry (ice Hockey)
John Clifford Curry (born February 27, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played for the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, and with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was also part of the Penguins team when they won the Stanley Cup in 2009. Jonathan Williamson Rheault (born August 1, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey player who last played for the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Rheault was born in Arlington, Texas, but grew up in Deering, New Hampshire. Agganis Arena
Agganis Arena is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, on the campus of Boston University, built on the location of the former Commonwealth Armory. It is home to the five-time national champion Boston University Terriers men's ice hockey team. It is named after Harry Agganis, an outstanding football and baseball athlete for BU and the Boston Red Sox, who died at the age of 26 from a massive pulmonary embolism. Cory Franklin Schneider (born March 18, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Bridgeport Islanders in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL).
