2005 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2005 Big Ten men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball Big Ten men's basketball tournament, tournament for the Big Ten Conference and was played between March 9 and 12, 2005, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. This was the eighth annual Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament. The championship was won by 2004–05 Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team, Illinois who defeated 2004-05 Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team, Wisconsin in the championship game. As a result, Illinois received the Big Ten Conference, Big Ten's automatic bid to the 2005 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, NCAA tournament. United Center
United Center is an indoor arena on the Near West Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is home to the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). It is named after its corporate sponsor United Airlines, which has been based in Chicago since 2007. Iowa Hawkeyes
The Iowa Hawkeyes are the athletic teams that represent the University of Iowa, located in Iowa City, Iowa. The Hawkeyes have varsity teams in 22 sports, 8 for men and 14 for women; a 15th women's sport will be added in 2023. Alando Tucker
Alando Forest Tucker (born February 11, 1984) is an American former collegiate basketball coach and former professional basketball player who played for the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball for the University of Wisconsin-Madison men's basketball team, where he became its all-time leading scorer with a total of 2,217 points. From 2007 to 2017, Tucker had a 10-year career in professional basketball which included playing for the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves for three years in the NBA. His last team was the Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Premier League in 2017, before going on retirement. Vincent Grier (born March 14, 1983) is an American former college basketball player for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. He has scored 1,118 points, but did not play during his junior season, due to an injury. He played for Minnesota after transferring from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. Luther Dale Head (born November 26, 1982) is a former American professional basketball player. High school Head attended Chicago's Manley Academy where he averaged over 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds per game as a junior. Those numbers earned him All-City honors and he was selected MVP of the Blue Division of the Chicago Public League. Led by Head and head coach Bo Delaney, Manley had a perfect 12–0 record and won the conference championship in the Blue-West Division. Manley finished 26–7 overall, losing to state runner-up Chicago Westinghouse in the Public League quarterfinals. During the season, Head posted 10 triple-doubles. James Augustine
James Augustine (born February 27, 1984) is a retired American professional basketball player who played as a forward. During the career he played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini before being drafted 41st overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. The Purdue Boilermakers basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and is a member of the Big Ten Conference.
