2004–05 Washington Capitals Season
The 2004–05 Washington Capitals season was their 31st National Hockey League season. Its games were cancelled as the 2004–05 NHL lockout could not be resolved in time. As a result, Alexander Ovechkin would not make his NHL debut until the start of the 2005–06 season. Eastern Conference (NHL)
The Eastern Conference (french: Conférence de l'Est) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Western Conference. History Originally named the Prince of Wales Conference, it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The Prince of Wales Trophy dates back to 1925, when it was donated to the League by the Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward VIII and then the Duke of Windsor. It was originally given to the NHL's playoff champion. (Until 1926, the Stanley Cup was presented to the winner of a post-season playoff between the NHL and Western Hockey League champions.) Jeff Paul
Jeffrey M. Paul (born March 1, 1978) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and current coach of the Kladno Knights of the Czech Republic Extraliga. He played in 10 professional seasons. Career Born in London, Ontario, Paul was drafted to the National Hockey League in 1996 by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2nd round, 42nd overall. He played two games in the NHL for the Colorado Avalanche during the 2002–03 season. On September 1, 2005, Paul was signed as a free agent by the Montreal Canadiens. Craig Johnson (ice Hockey, Born 1972)
Craig Thomas Johnson (born March 18, 1972), is an American former professional ice hockey player who played ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 33rd overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and went on to play 563 games in the NHL. Internationally Johnson played for the American national team in several World Championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics. He is currently working in the player development department for the Kings. Career Johnson made his NHL debut during the 1994–95 season with St. Louis. He scored the first goal at the Kiel Center when it opened in 1995. On February 27, 1996, Johnson was traded with Patrice Tardif, Roman Vopat, and two draft picks to the Los Angeles Kings for Wayne Gretzky. The Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in the Miami metropolitan area. Joel Kwiatkowski
Joel Kwiatkowski (born March 22, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Kwiatkowski played 282 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Kwiatkowski was drafted in the eighth round, 194th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. After finishing junior hockey, he signed with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as a free-agent, but never played in the NHL for the Ducks, instead he spent two seasons with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League. He was traded to the Ottawa Senators for Patrick Traverse in 2000 and played a handful of games with the Sens. As well as that, he was a key player in the IHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins, becoming an all-star in 2001. The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Superleague, it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom. Bradley Norton (born February 13, 1975) is an American former professional ice hockey Defenseman. Norton played for five seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). John Daniel Gruden (born June 4, 1970) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Boston Bruins.
