2004–05 Southampton F.C. Season
During the 2004–05 English football season, Southampton Football Club competed in the Premier League. It was the club's 27th consecutive season in the English top flight and their 120th year in existence, The team would be relegated at the end of the season after a 2–1 loss against Manchester United, they exited the FA Cup on the sixth round due to a 4–0 loss against Manchester United that was broadcast on the BBC, they were also eliminated from the Carling Cup in the fourth round, losing 5–2 against Watford. Southampton () is a port city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire in southern England. It is located approximately south-west of London and west of Portsmouth. Kevin Phillips (footballer)
Kevin Mark Phillips (born 25 July 1973) is an English former professional footballer who is currently manager of NPL Premier Division club South Shields. A former forward, Phillips was the Premier League top scorer in the 1999–2000 season with 30 goals for Sunderland, a tally which won him the European Golden Shoe. Bo Janne Andreas Jakobsson (born 6 October 1972) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a defender and defensive midfielder. Claus Lundekvam (born 22 February 1973) is a Norwegian former professional Association football, footballer who played as a centre-back. Lundekvam began his career with SK Brann, Brann before moving to English side Southampton F.C., Southampton in 1996 where he played until his retirement in 2008. Jelle François Maria Van Damme (; born 10 October 1983) is a Belgian retired professional footballer who played as a centre-back, left-back or left midfielder. Graeme Pierre Le Saux ( ; born 17 October 1968) is an English former professional footballer and television pundit. As a versatile left sided player he played most of his career at left back with two spells at Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton, and for the England national football team. Le Saux started his career in his native Jersey before moving to England when he signed for Chelsea in 1987. Jason Robert Dodd (born 2 November 1970) is an English football coach and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a full-back who notably spent sixteen-years playing for Southampton where the majority of those came in the Premier League. He made just shy of 400 league appearances during his stay before departing in 2005. Antti Mikko Niemi (born 31 May 1972) is a Finnish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He also worked as a goalkeeping coach at Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2014–15 season. Friends’ Provident Insurance was a banking institution founded in 1832 to serve the needs of the Society of Friends (Quakers).
