John Moran (basketball)
John Moran is an American coach who was notable for serving as head coach of Shell Turbo Chargers in the PBA. Coaching career A former assistant of Bob Knight at Indiana, Moran was hired as head coach of Shell Turbo Chargers in the PBA, replacing Perry Ronquillo. But due to Basketball Coaches Association of the Philippines' skepticism of hiring non-Filipino coaches for the league, Moran's appointment was expected to be under protest, but the association let Moran coach NBA. In his PBA coaching career, Moran was noted for benching its rookie Rich Alvarez and only winning once out of first five games. He was later fired and replaced by Leo Austria Leovino R. 2004 PBA Fiesta Conference
The 2004 PBA Fiesta Conference, or known as the 2004 Gran Matador Brandy-PBA Fiesta Conference for sponsor (commercial), sponsorship reasons, was tournament held by the Philippine Basketball Association and the first ever edition of the PBA Fiesta Conference. Prior to the formation of the said conference, the league had two import-laced conferences known as the PBA Commissioner's Cup (with an import height-limit of 6–8), and the PBA Governor's Cup (with an import height-limit of 6–4). However, in 2003, the two conferences were scrapped and was replaced with an Invitational tournament, with an All-Filipino local squad along with foreign teams) and an import-laced Reinforced Conference. Chris Calaguio
Christian Jay Calaguio (born December 26, 1975, in Makati, Philippines) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Basketball Association. He is a former San Beda Red Cub cager and was one of the star players of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights during his college days in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. After playing for the Knights, he went on to play in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association as a member of the San Juan Knights. After the MBA disbanded in 2002, he played for the Shell Turbo Chargers and then with the San Miguel Beermen, where he ended up via the dispersal draft after Shell disbanded as well in 2005. Urdaneta, officially the City of Urdaneta ( pag, Siyudad na Urdaneta; ilo, Siyudad ti Urdaneta; fil, Lungsod ng Urdaneta), is a 2nd class component city in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots for the second-most titles overall. They are one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines.
