The 2004 Tour de Pologne was the 61st edition of the Tour de Pologne cycle race and was held from 6 September to 12 September 2004. The race started in Gdańsk and finished in Karpacz on a route similar to that of the previous edition. The race was won by Ondřej Sosenka. Ondřej Sosenka
Ondřej Sosenka (born 9 December 1975 in Prague) is a Czech professional cyclist who last rode for the UCI Professional Continental team PSK Whirlpool-Author. He won the Peace Race in 2002. He broke the five-year-old UCI hour record on 19 July 2005 in Moscow, Russia, riding in one hour. Biography Sosenka was known as one of the largest professional cyclists competing in Europe. Standing tall, he weighs and rides a track bicycle with cranks. For his 2005-hour record attempt, he used a custom carbon fiber bicycle manufactured by Francesco Moser cycles. In 2006, he won the Czech Republic national time trial championships and following this the two-man time trial Duo Normand with Radek Blahut. Doping In June 2008, he tested positive for the banned stimulant methamphetamine and its metabolites during his national time trial championships, and received a suspension which ended his career. Franco Pellizotti (born 15 January 1978) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2001 and 2018 for the Alessio, , and teams. Pellizotti now works as a directeur sportif for the team. Career Pellizotti was born in Latisana, Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. During his career, Pellizotti was known as a climbing specialist and won Stage 10 in the 2006 Giro d'Italia, Stage 16 in the 2008 Giro d'Italia and Stage 17 in the 2009 Giro d'Italia. The Tour de Pologne (Polish: ''Wyścig Dookoła Polski'', English: ''Tour of Poland'', official abbreviation TdP,) is an annual, professional men's multiple-stage bicycle race primarily held in Poland. It consists of seven or eight stages and is usually around 1,200 km in length. The race was first held in 1928 and is considered the oldest and most important bicycle race in Poland. Until 1952 the race was held sporadically, but since then it has been an annual race. Until early 1993 the race was open to amateur cyclists only and most of its winners came from Poland. Since 2009, the race has been taking place between July and August. Allan Howard Davis (born 27 July 1980) is an Australian former professional road racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI ProTour team . Born in Ipswich, Queensland, Davis resides in Bundaberg, Queensland and in Spain. Known for his sprinting ability, he started competitive cycling at the age of 10, and turned professional in 2002. Florent Brard (born 7 February 1976, in Chambray-lès-Tours, France) is a retired French road bicycle racer. He won three national championships, including the professional road race. He became a professional in 1999 and stopped racing in November 2009 after not finding a place in a team. Childhood Florent Brard was born into a cycling family. His father bought two copies of cycling magazines, one to read and the other to save, untouched.
