2004 Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team
The 2004 Cincinnati Bearcats football team represented the University of Cincinnati in the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season. The team, coached by Mark Dantonio, played its home games in Nippert Stadium, as it has since 1924. Conference USA
Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech. Since this left an uneven number of schools in the conference, Houston of the dissolving Southwest Conference was extended an invitation and agreed to join following the SWC's disbanding at the end of the 1995–96 academic year. 2004 Syracuse Orange Football Team
The 2004 Syracuse Orange football team represented Syracuse University during the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Orange were coached by Paul Pasqualoni and played their home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. This was the first season in which Syracuse used the nickname of Orange. Previously, Syracuse had respectively used "Orangemen" for men's sports, including football, and "Orangewomen" for women's sports. In 2015, Syracuse vacated the six wins from this season among others from the 2005 and 2006 seasons following an eight-year NCAA investigation, as the NCAA found that some football players who committed academic fraud participated in the wins. ESPN GamePlan
ESPN GamePlan was an out-of-market sports package offering college football games to viewers throughout the United States. GamePlan began on Labor Day weekend, and continued through the first Saturday in December. It included all regional telecasts on ABC, as well as games from various syndicators like ESPN Plus, Raycom Sports and SportsWest, and some local stations like Allentown, Pennsylvania's WFMZ-TV which broadcast locally-produced college football games. Viewers could watch games from their cable or satellite provider or on the ESPN3 broadband Internet service. Eventually, with carriage of ESPN3 moving from computers only to smartphones, tablets and digital media players allowing access without any additional fees, GamePlan became a superfluous package, with only the few providers who refused to offer ESPN3 or where ESPN3 access was limited (for instance, rural areas) really able to compel viewers to use the service. The Cincinnati–Memphis rivalry is a college sports rivalry between the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and the University of Memphis Tigers. Michie Stadium
Michie Stadium is an outdoor football stadium on the campus of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York. The home field for the Army Black Knights, it opened in 1924 and has a current seating capacity of 38,000. The stadium sits at the upper portion of campus, directly west of Lusk Reservoir. The field is at an elevation of above sea level and runs in the traditional north–south configuration, with the press box above the west sideline.
