2003–04 Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball Team
The 2003–04 Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represented Xavier University from Cincinnati, Ohio in the 2003–04 season. Led by head coach Thad Matta, the Musketeers finished 19–10 in the regular season, and won the Atlantic 10 tournament. In the NCAA tournament, the Musketeers put on an unexpected performance, battling all the way to the Elite Eight, eventually falling to Duke. Thad Matta
Thad Michael Matta (born July 11, 1967) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach of the Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team. From 2004 to 2017, Matta led the Ohio State Buckeyes to five Big Ten Conference regular season championships (2006, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2012), four Big Ten tournament titles ( 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2013), two Final Four appearances ( 2007 and 2012), and the 2008 NIT Championship. He is the winningest coach in Ohio State history. Before returning to Butler, Matta spent a season (2021–22) as the Associate Athletic Director for Indiana and the men's basketball team. Cintas Center
The Cintas Center is a 10,250-seat multi-purpose arena and conference center at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. The arena officially opened in 2000 and was constructed through private donations as part of Xavier University's Century Campaign. It is home to the Xavier University (Cincinnati), Xavier University Musketeers basketball and volleyball teams. It is named for the uniform company Cintas. 2004 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2004 Atlantic 10 men's basketball tournament was played from March 10 to March 13, 2004, at the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio. The winner was named champion of the Atlantic 10 Conference and received an automatic bid to the 2004 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Xavier University won the tournament. The top two teams in each division received first-round byes. Saint Joseph's University entered the tournament undefeated, but lost to Xavier in the quarterfinals. Dayton, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, and Xavier all received bids to the NCAA tournament, with the latter two teams losing in the regional finals. The Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team represents The Ohio State University in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. The Buckeyes are a member of the Big Ten Conference. Georgia Dome
The Georgia Dome was a domed stadium in the Southeastern United States. Located in Atlanta between downtown to the east and Vine City to the west, it was owned and operated by the State of Georgia as part of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Lionel Chalmers, Jr. (born November 10, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player who currently works as an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is 6'0" (1.83 m) in height and played at the point guard position. Amateur career Chalmers played his first three years of high school basketball at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons in Schenectady, New York. He then transferred to Albany High School (Albany, New York), Albany High School for his senior year. Chalmers attended Xavier Musketeers men's basketball, Xavier University, where he played college basketball for four years as an undergraduate and later as a graduate student. 2004–05 Los Angeles Clippers Season
The 2004–05 NBA season was the Clippers' 35th season in the National Basketball Association, and their 21st season in Los Angeles. With a young team with some promising talent led by Elton Brand and Corey Maggette, the Clippers got off to a solid start with an 11–7 record, but then lost five straight as they played around .500 for the first half of the season. However, after holding a 23–23 record as of February 3, the team struggled and lost eight straight games, losing nine of their twelve games during the month. The Clippers continued to struggled as they finished third in the Pacific Division with a 37–45 record, which was three more wins than their crosstown rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. Romain Sato
Romain Guessagba-Sato-Lebel (; born March 2, 1981), generally known as Romain Sato, is a former Central African professional basketball player. Standing at a height of 1.96 m (6' 5"), he played as a swingman. High school Sato attended Dayton Christian High School, while living in Moraine, Ohio, in the United States. While there, he played basketball, and in 2000 Sato was selected as Mr. Basketball for the state of Ohio. In 2019 he was elected to the Dayton Christian High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and in 2021 the school retired his #23 jersey.
