2003–04 Washington Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2003–04 Washington Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Washington for the 2003–04 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by second-year head coach Lorenzo Romar, the Huskies were members of the Pacific-10 Conference and played their home games on campus at Hec Edmundson Pavilion in The Huskies were overall in the regular season and in conference play, second in the standings. Washington lost their first five Pac-10 games, then won twelve of thirteen to finish as runner-up. Lorenzo Romar
Lorenzo Romar (born November 13, 1958) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is the head men's basketball coach at Pepperdine University, a position he held from 1996 to 1999 and resumed in 2018. Romar also served as the head men's basketball coach at Saint Louis University from 1999 to 2002 and the University of Washington from 2002 to 2017. Playing career Romar played college basketball at Cerritos College from 1976–78 and then for Washington from 1978 to 1980. After college, he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors and spent five years playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). UAB Blazers Men's Basketball
The UAB Blazers men's basketball team represents the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the NCAA Division I men's college basketball, and have competed in Conference USA (C-USA) since 1995. History The UAB Blazers started their athletics program with the creation of men's basketball in 1978. Setting high standards from the start, UAB was able to lure Gene Bartow away from his post as the head coach at UCLA to start the Blazer program. Known as the "Father of UAB athletics," Coach Bartow was able to guide the Blazers to early success by reaching the NCAA tournament in just their third season of existence. 2003–04 UAB Blazers Men's Basketball Team
The 2003–04 UAB Blazers men's basketball team represented the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a member of the Conference USA during the 2003–04 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Mike Anderson's second season at UAB, and the Blazers played their home games at Bartow Arena. They finished the season 22–10, 12–4 in C-USA play and lost in the semifinals of the C-USA tournament. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as No. 9 seed in the St. Louis region.
