2003–04 WNBL Season
The 2003–04 WNBL season was the 24th season of competition since its establishment in 1981. A total of 8 teams contested the league. Broadcast rights were held by free-to-air network ABC. ABC broadcast one game a week, at 1:00PM at every standard time in Australia. Molten provided equipment including the official game ball, with Hoop2Hoop supplying team apparel. Women's National Basketball League
The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the pre-eminent professional women's basketball league in Australia. It is currently composed of eight teams. The league was founded in 1981 and is the women's counterpart to the National Basketball League (NBL). Several WNBL teams have NBL counterparts. The Adelaide Lightning, Melbourne Boomers, Perth Lynx, Southside Flyers and Sydney Uni Flames are the current WNBL teams sharing a market with an NBL team (the Townsville Fire and University of Canberra Capitals shared a market with the Townsville Crocodiles and Canberra Cannons respectively, before both NBL clubs became defunct). The current league champions are the Melbourne Boomers, who won their second title in 2022. Kathleen MacLeod
Kathleen MacLeod (born 23 October 1986) is an Australian basketball player who was part of the Australian team that won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Personal MacLeod is from Melbourne. She has four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. She is tall. Basketball MacLeod is a guard. As a competitor at the 2005 Australian Under-20 national championships, she won the Bob Staunton Award. She played junior basketball for the Victorian-based Nunawading Spectres. Jessica Bibby
Jessica Bibby (born 23 August 1979) is an Australian sportswoman. She has played over 200 games in the WNBL and won several WNBL Championships. She has played for the Dandenong Rangers and Canberra Capitals. She was drafted by the WNBA's New York Liberty in 2000 and played for the team. She has played for the Australian national basketball team at junior and senior level. In 2017, turned to Australian rules football, playing for in all seven games of the 2017 AFL Women's season. Gina Stevens
Georgina (Gina) Stevens (born 4 July 1975) is a retired Australian women's basketball player, who represented the country at both junior and senior levels. Biography Stevens played in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) between 1992 and 2004. During that period Stevens played for four teams; AIS (1992 to 1993), Perth Breakers (1994 to 1999/00), Bulleen Boomers (2000/01) and Townsville Fire (2002/03 to 2003/04), totaling 204 games. In 1996, Stevens won the WNBL Top Shooter Award with 375 points at an average of 21.3 points per game. Stevens was also selected to the WNBL All-Star Five on two occasions; 1996 and 1998/99. Katrina Hibbert (born 29 September 1977) is an Australian basketball coach and retired professional basketball player. Playing career College In her final year of High School, Hibbert travelled on exchange to the United States where she would attend Denham Springs High School, Louisiana, hoping to secure a college basketball scholarship.
