2003 Supertaça Cândido De Oliveira
The 2003 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira was the 25th edition of the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, the annual Portuguese football season-opening match contested by the winners of the previous season's top league and cup competitions (or cup runner-up in case the league- and cup-winning club is the same). The match took place on the 10 August 2003 at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães, and was contested between 2002–03 Primeira Liga and 2002–03 Taça de Portugal winners Porto, and cup runners-up União de Leiria. Porto would defeat União de Leiria 1–0 with an illegal goal. Supertaça Cândido De Oliveira
The Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (; English: Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup, or simply Portuguese Super Cup) is an annual Portuguese football match played since 1979 between the winners of the Portuguese League (Primeira Liga) and Portuguese Cup (Taça de Portugal). When a team wins both competitions (thus achieving the double (''dobradinha'')), it plays again against the Cup runners-up. The Supertaça has been organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since 1981 and is usually played in August, right before the start of the league season. Vítor Manuel Martins Baía, OIH (; born 15 October 1969) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Ricardo Miguel Moreira da Costa (; born 16 May 1981) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played mainly as a central defender but occasionally as a full-back. Nuno Herlander Simões Espírito Santo (born 25 January 1974), often referred to as simply Nuno, is a Portuguese football manager and former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently the manager of Saudi Professional League club Al-Ittihad. During his career he first made a name for himself in Spain, playing for three teams in five years.
