The 2003 Hungaroring F3000 round was a motor racing event held on 23 August 2003 at the Hungaroring, Mogyoród, Hungary. It was the ninth round of the 2003 International Formula 3000 Championship, and was held in support of the 2003 Hungarian Grand Prix. This was the first Formula 3000 race to feature been introduced mandatory pit stop. Ricardo Sperafico
Ricardo Sperafico (born 23 July 1979) is a Brazilian professional racing driver. Career Born in Toledo, he resides in a family of racers, twin brother of Rodrigo, and with two cousins, Alexandre and the late Rafael. He began his career in Europe in Formula Ford. In 1998 and 1999 competed in South American Formula Three and won the Italian Formula 3000 series in 2000, before moving to International F3000 competition the following season. In 2002, Ricardo, Rodrigo and Alexandre all raced in the series with Ricardo finishing the best, 5th, driving for Petrobras Junior Team. He finished runner-up in 2003 before taking 2004 off. In 2005 he competed for the rookie-of-the-year title in Champ Car, driving for Dale Coyne Racing. BCN Competicion
Ocean Racing Technology (ORT) was a racing team that took part in both the GP2 Main Series and the GP2 Asia Series Championships. The team, owned by Tiago Monteiro and José Guedes, was formed at the end of the 2008 season after being purchased from BCN, a team which never enjoyed much success in GP2 (two podiums in four years). The driver and the entrepreneur created a structure based on recognized professionals and quickly started to secure first-class results, making it possible for the Portuguese Racing team to fight with the more advanced teams in the FIA accredited championship that is the main feeder series for Formula One. Raffaele Giammaria
Raffaele Giammaria (born 1 September 1977 in Civitavecchia) is an Italian racing car driver. He was runner-up in the Formula Renault 2000 Italy series in 2000, then progressed through German and Italian Formula Three and Italian Formula 3000 to International Formula 3000 for 2003 with the Durango team. He scored one podium and was placed tenth in the championship with 12 points, a respectable score in his début season. 2004 was even better for Giammaria, with 27 points scored and eighth place in the championship secured by the season's end. However, he missed one of the races due to financial problems, and was forced to switch teams, from Durango to Astromega. It was therefore not much of a surprise when he failed to get a drive in the rebranded GP2 Series for 2005. Team Astromega was a racing team from Belgium, headquartered in Heist-op-den-Berg and created in 1995 by Mikke Van Hool. The team competed in A1 Grand Prix and Formula Renault 1.6 Belgium. Tony Schmidt (born 9 May 1980 in Leipzig) is a German racing driver. Career Formula Three Schmidt competed in German Formula Three from 1999 to 2001, establishing himself as a midfield runner. He also scored three podium finishes during these seasons, and competed in the Masters of Formula Three race twice. Formula 3000 Schmidt competed in three seasons of Formula 3000 from 2002 to 2004, again as a midfield runner. Zsolt Baumgartner
Zsolt Baumgartner (born 1 January 1981) is a Hungarian former racing driver who raced for the Jordan and Minardi teams in Formula One. He remains the only Hungarian driver to have competed and to have scored a point in Formula One. Career Baumgartner made his Formula One race debut at the 2003 Hungarian Grand Prix, substituting for the injured Ralph Firman in the Jordan team; he also took part in the Italian Grand Prix that year. Plans were made for Baumgartner to drive for Jordan again in 2004 with sponsorship from oil company MOL Rt. However, he failed to agree terms with Jordan and was signed by Minardi instead. Super Nova Racing was a British racing team that has competed in Formula 3000/ GP2 and the A1 Grand Prix series. Super Nova first entered racing in 1991. Super Nova was a new incarnation of the pre-existing David Sears Motorsport, sponsored by the Nova chain of Japanese English schools and also ran the Danish Den Blå Avis outfit. In July 2007, naming sponsor Nova's legal problems became the subject of intense media coverage in Japan, and by the end of September 2007 the company was reported to be unable to pay staff salaries or rent, being declared bankrupt in November 2007 amidst a widening scandal about business improprieties, but SuperNova continued to list Nova as a sponsor. On 24 June 2008, President Saruhashi of the Nova chain of English schools was taken into police custody and faced charges of embezzlement. Enrico Toccacelo
Enrico Toccacelo (born 14 December 1978 in Rome) is an Italian auto racer with karting, GT and Formula 3000 experience. He won three F3000 events and briefly led Vitantonio Liuzzi in the 2004 championship before Liuzzi went on to win the next three races. He finished runner-up, but, unable to land a Formula One seat, raced in the World Series by Renault series in 2005. From the 2005 Turkish Grand Prix he was the third driver with Minardi, appearing in Friday practice sessions for three Grand Prix weekends. ISR Racing (also known as Coca-Cola Racing Team in FIA GT) is a racing team from Czech Republic, created in 1993 by Igor Salaquarda. The team is currently competing in ADAC GT Masters.
