2003 FIFA Confederations Cup
The 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup football tournament was the sixth FIFA Confederations Cup, held in France in June 2003. France retained the title they had won in 2001, but the tournament was overshadowed by the death of Cameroon player Marc-Vivien Foé, who died of heart failure in his side's semi-final against Colombia. Foé's death united the France and Cameroon teams in the final match, which was played even though team players from both sides had explicitly stated that the match should not be played out of respect for Foé. France went on to win the trophy with a golden goal from Thierry Henry. At the presentation of medals and trophies, two Cameroon players held a gigantic photo of Foé, and a runner-up medal was hung to the edge of the photo. Once Caldas
Once Caldas S.A., simply known as Once Caldas, is a professional Colombian football team based in Manizales, that currently plays in the Categoría Primera A. They play their home games at the Palogrande stadium. They were the surprise winners of the Copa Libertadores in 2004. The club was founded in 1961 after the merger of Deportes Caldas and Deportivo Manizales (also known as Once Deportivo). History In 1950, Deportes Caldas won the Campeonato Profesional, as the Colombian professional football league was named at the time. Once Caldas was founded in 1959 after the fusion of Once Deportivo and Deportes Caldas. Once Deportivo was founded in 1930 while Deportes Caldas was founded at the end of the 1940s. Eudalio Eulises Arriaga Blandón (born 19 September 1975) is a former Colombian footballer that played as a forward. Career Born in Turbo, Antioquia, Arriaga began playing professional football with Envigado. He made his league debut under manager Gabriel Jaime Gómez, appearing as a second-half substitute against Deportivo Cali on 23 March 1995. He would score his first league goal against América de Cali on 11 March 1996. Arriaga played for a number of clubs in Colombia including Junior where he played over 100 games. Juan Carlos Henao Valencia, usually known as Juan Carlos Henao (born December 30, 1971), is a Colombian retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper.
