2002–03 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2002–03 season is the seventh in the history of the Glasgow Warriors as a professional side. During this season the young professional side competed as Glasgow Rugby. The 2002–03 season saw Glasgow Rugby compete in the competitions: the Celtic League and the European Champions Cup, the Heineken Cup and a reformed Scottish Inter-District Championship, for sponsorship reasons known as the Bank of Scotland Pro Cup. Hughenden, Glasgow
Hughenden is a multi-sports venue in the Hyndland area of Glasgow, Scotland. It has been the home since 1924 of Hillhead Sports Club, a private members' club catering for cricket, rugby union and tennis. Hughenden is best known as a rugby venue and is the home ground of Hillhead Jordanhill RFC. It was also used as the home ground of the professional Glasgow Rugby team from 1996 to 2005 and again from 2006 to 2007. The main rugby ground has a capacity of 6,000. History Hillhead Sports Club was formed in 1902 as a private club for former pupils of Hillhead High School, catering for various sports including football, cricket, hockey and athletics. A rugby team, Hillhead High School Former Pupils RFC (later Hillhead RFC), was formed in 1904. Scott Lawson
Scott Lawson (born 28 September 1981 in Lanark) is a Scottish rugby union player who plays club rugby for Newcastle Falcons. Lawson started playing rugby with Biggar RFC he went through the youth system and all the way to the first XV. He then moved to sign and play for the Glasgow Pro' team. He played for Gloucester Rugby after moving from Sale Sharks in September 2008. After four years, Lawson left Gloucester in 2012 and joined London Irish on a two-year contract. But on 22 April 2013 it was announced Lawson would join newly promoted Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership for the 2013–14 season. He plays internationally for Scotland. He plays as a hooker. Donnie Macfadyen
Donald John Hunter Macfadyen (born 11 October 1979) is a former Scotland international rugby union player. He played as a Flanker. He made over 100 appearances for Glasgow Warriors from 1999 to 2008. Rugby Union career Amateur career Macfadyen played for Edinburgh Academicals at an amateur level before being signed for Glasgow Warriors. Jason White (rugby Union)
Jason Phillip Randall White (born 17 April 1978) is a Scottish former rugby union footballer. He was a utility forward who played in the second or back row of the scrum – lock, flanker, or number eight. White played at club level for Glasgow Caledonians (now known as Glasgow Warriors); the French Top 14 side ASM Clermont Auvergne; and English Premiership side Sale Sharks. He won 77 caps playing for Scotland, captaining the side on 19 occasions. Opeta Palepoi (born 2 December 1975) is a Samoan rugby union footballer, with 48 caps. He currently plays for Scottish side Gala RFC. He has previously played for Glasgow Warriors, Border Reivers and English club Harlequins. His first start for Glasgow Warriors was in season 2002–03. Alan Brown (rugby Union)
Alan Brown (born 10 September 1980 in Dundee, Scotland) is a former Scotland Club XV international rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors, who played at the Tighthead Prop position, although he could also be used in the Back Row if necessitated. Alan also went on to be a very successful coach after his player and assistant coach days. In 2018 he moved to Strathmore RFC, and in his first season they won the league and gained promotion as well as the quarter-finals of the Scottish cup. Alan then returned to Dundee rugby as head coach for the latter 2020 season. The team competes in the Scottish National League Division One. Gordon Sykes (born Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors and Ayr, who played at the Tighthead Prop position. Amateur level Sykes played for Ayr RFC. Dave Hilton (born 3 April 1970 in Bristol, England) is an English-born former Scotland international rugby union player. He was capped 42 times for the Scotland national rugby union team. In his club career he played for Bath Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Bristol. His position of choice is as a prop.
