2002 Minnesota Vikings Season
The 2002 season was the Minnesota Vikings' 42nd in the National Football League, and the first under head coach Mike Tice. Tice was the third of the Vikings' six head coaches to be promoted from within the team's coaching ranks but the first to have actually played for the team. The Vikings lost their opening game in Chicago 27–23 after surrendering a 20–10 halftime lead, and ended up going 0–4 before their bye week. Results improved after the bye, but they ultimately went 6–6 in their remaining games, including a three-game winning streak to end the season. They finished the season with a 6–10 record and missed the playoffs for the second year in a row. Second-year running back Michael Bennett enjoyed a successful year, rushing for 1,296 yards, resulting in a Pro Bowl selection at the end of the season. NFC North
The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North was previously known as the NFC Central from 1970 to 2001. Henri Crockett
Henri Woodrau Crockett (born October 28, 1974) is a former American football player. He attended Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida. As a youth Henri was recognized as an All-American Athlete in Parade Magazine’s Super Prep and Football Report. He earned an athletic scholarship and played linebacker at Florida State University. Henri was a member of the Seminole’s 1993 NCAA Division I National Championship team and was also part of the team that won five back to back Atlantic Coast Conference Championships from 1993–1997. After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of the 1997 NFL Draft. Kenneth Dewayne Wright (born September 14, 1977) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. Hunter Goodwin
Hunter Goodwin (born October 10, 1972) is a former professional American football tight end. College career Goodwin transferred from Texas A&M–Kingsville to Texas A&M in 1993. While in Kingsville, he was a Lone Star Conference award recipient as a tight end. He walked on to the Texas A&M football team and soon received a full scholarship.
