South Korea National Football Team
The South Korea national football team (; recognized as Korea Republic by FIFA) represents South Korea in men's international football and is governed by the Korea Football Association. South Korea has emerged as a major football power in Asia since the 1980s, having participated in ten consecutive and eleven overall FIFA World Cup tournaments, the most for any Asian country. Despite initially going through five World Cup tournaments without winning a match, South Korea became the first (and so far only) Asian team to reach the semi-finals when they co-hosted the 2002 tournament with Japan. Jacek Bąk
Jacek Waldemar Bąk (; born 24 March 1973) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Other than his country, he competed in France, Qatar and Austria, notably appearing in more than 150 competitive games for Lyon and contributing to win the 2002 national championship. Bąk represented Poland for 15 years, appearing for the nation in two World Cups and Euro 2008. Since 2004 he is a French citizen. Club career Born in Lublin, Bąk made his senior debuts with local Motor Lublin aged just 16, moving to Lech Poznań two years later. Tomasz Nikodem Hajto () (born 16 October 1972) is a Polish expert commentator, sports agent, football coach and retired professional footballer. Club career Born in Maków Podhalański, Hajto began his career playing for local club Halniak Maków Podhalański. He moved to Góral Żywiec before making his big break in 1991 with Hutnik Kraków. His prowess as a youngster was noticed by many, and in 1993–94 he was transferred to Górnik Zabrze. Jerzy Dudek
Jerzy Henryk Dudek (; born 23 March 1973) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. After beginning his career in his home country, he went on to have successful spells in the Netherlands and England, winning the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 and appearing in 186 official matches for the club over six seasons. Guus Hiddink
Guus Hiddink (; born 8 November 1946) is a Dutch former football manager and professional player. He enjoyed a long career playing as a midfielder in his native Netherlands. Retired as player in 1982, Hiddink went into management, leading both clubs and countries from across the globe to achieve various titles and feats. With PSV Eindhoven he won the European Champions Cup, the predecessor of the UEFA Champions League. Cha Du-ri (; or ; born 25 July 1980) is a South Korean former professional footballer. He played as a right back, right winger, or striker. He is the first Korean player who was born outside of Korea to have played in a FIFA World Cup. During the third-place match of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup against Uzbekistan, Cha captained the national team in place of the regular Korean captain, Park Ji-sung. Seol Ki-hyeon
Seol Ki-hyeon (born 8 January 1979) is a South Korean former professional footballer who played as a winger, and who currently is the manager of Gyeongnam FC. He is also the first South Korean footballer to score in the history of the UEFA Champions League, during his time at Anderlecht. Park Ji-sung (; ; born 30 March 1981) is a South Korean former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in the South Korean capital Seoul, Park is the most successful Asian player in football history, having won 19 trophies in his career. He is the first Asian footballer to have won the UEFA Champions League, to play in a UEFA Champions League final, as well as the first Asian to have won the FIFA Club World Cup. Lee Eul-yong (Hangul: 이을용) (born 8 September 1975) is a South Korean football coach, manager and former player . Early life Lee was born in Taebaek, Gangwon, and attended high school in Gangneung. He continued his football career during his school days, but he failed to join a university football club. He stopped playing football for a while before receiving an offer to join semi-professional club Korea Railroad. International career Lee was part of the South Korean national team in the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
