2002 Bosnian General Election
General elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 October 2002.Dieter Nohlen & Philip Stöver (2010) ''Elections in Europe: A data handbook'', p330 Voter turnout was 55%. The elections for the House of Representatives were divided into two; one for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one for Republika Srpska. In the presidential election, voters in the Federation elected Bosniak Sulejman Tihić and Croat Dragan Čović, while voters in Republika Srpska elected Serb Mirko Šarović. The Party of Democratic Action emerged as the largest party in the House of Representatives, winning 10 of the 42 seats. Presidency Of Bosnia And Herzegovina
The presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, Predsjedništvo Bosne i Hercegovine, separator=" / ", Предсједништво Босне и Херцеговине) is a three-member body which collectively serves as head of state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to Article V of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the presidency comprises three members: one Bosniak, one Serb, and one Croat. The Bosniak and Croat members are elected from a joint constituency in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whilst the Serb member is elected from voters in Republika Srpska. The three members elected at any one election serve a collective four-year term. Individuals are able to serve no more than two consecutive four-year terms, although there are no overall term limits. Zlatko Lagumdžija
Zlatko Lagumdžija (born 26 December 1955) is a Bosnian former politician who served as the 4th Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2001 to 2002. He also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2001 to 2002 and again from 2012 to 2015. He was the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP BiH) from 1997 until 2014. Lagumdžija was born in Sarajevo in 1955. His father Salko was mayor of Sarajevo in the 1960s. Lagumdžija graduated from the University of Sarajevo in 1981. He did postdoctoral research at the University of Arizona. Subsequently, he taught at the University of Sarajevo and later chaired the department of management information system at the Economics Faculty. Lagumdžija began his political career during the Bosnian War as deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, advising then-president Alija Izetbegović. Mladen Ivanić ( sr-cyr, Младен Иванић, ; born 16 September 1958) is a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 6th Serb Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 17 November 2014 until 20 November 2018. He is the founder, member and former president of the Party of Democratic Progress. Ivanić also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 23 December 2002 until 11 January 2007. He was the 7th Prime Minister of Republika Srpska as well. Early life and education Born in Sanski Most, Ivanić has lived in Banja Luka since 1971. His teenage years were marked by the breaking of the school globe in Gimnazija Banja Luka. He earned his university diploma in economics there. Bariša Čolak (born 1 January 1956) is Bosnian Croat politician and lawyer. He is currently a member of the House of Peoples and previously served as Minister of Justice from 2007 to 2015. Čolak was also Minister of Security from 2002 to 2007. He is a member and former president of the Croatian Democratic Union. Early life and education Čolak was born on 1 January 1956 in Široki Brijeg, where he attended elementary and high school. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of University Džemal Bijedić of Mostar in 1979.
