2002 Albanian Supercup
The 2002 Albanian Supercup is the ninth edition of the Albanian Supercup since its establishment in 1989. The match was contested between the Albanian Cup 2002 winners KF Tirana and the 2001–02 Albanian Superliga champions Dinamo Tirana. KF Tirana thrashed the blue team by 6-0, this being the biggest win so far in an Albanian Supercup final. Albanian Supercup
The Albanian Supercup is a single match usually at the beginning of the season between the winners of the Kategoria Superiore and Albanian Cup. Supercup final was not played in the occasions when the champion team won the Double (association football), Double. However, after year 2000 Albanian Football Association, AFA rules changed and the final would still be played against the Albanian Cup, Cup runner-ups. There have been 29 finals played in total. KF Tirana are the most successful team to have won the trophy 12 times. 2001–02 Albanian Cup
2001–02 Albanian Cup () was the 50th season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began on August 18, 2001 with the First Round and ended on June 1, 2002 with the Final match. The winners of the competition qualified for the 2002-03 first round of the UEFA Europa League. Tirana were the defending champions, having won their eleventh Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by Tirana. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. If the number of away goals was equal in both games, the match was decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. First round Games were played on August 18 & 24 2001. Alban Tafaj (born 3 December 1971) is an Albanian former professional Manager (association football), football manager and retired Football player, player. He played for both Albanian KF Tirana–Partizani Tirana rivalry, city rivals FK Partizani Tirana, Partizani Tirana and KF Tirana, Tirana. Playing career Born in Tirana, Albania, Tafaj played for hometown clubs FK Partizani Tirana, Partizani Tirana and KF Tirana, Tirana. He played at Partizani for five years, and at Tirana for nine. He won the Albanian Superliga six times as a player, one of them being with Partizani and the others with Tirana. Mahir Halili (born 30 June 1975) is an Albanian retired footballer. He played for Tirana, Dinamo Tirana, Kastrioti Krujë and his last team Partizani Tirana. He also played abroad in Switzerland with SR Delémont in the 1997–98 season and in Slovenia with ND Gorica where he played for two seasons from 1998 to 2000. Futboll Club Dinamo Tirana is an Albanian professional football club based in the country's capital Tirana. They play in the Kategoria e Parë, the second tier of Albanian football, in the 2022–23 season.
