2001–02 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2001–02 season is the sixth in the history of the Glasgow Warriors as a professional side. During this season the young professional side competed as Glasgow Rugby; reverting to their original professional title and dropping the Caledonian name inherited from the Caledonia Reds merger. However, the team gains the epithet Warriors at least from this season. The 2001–02 season saw Glasgow Rugby compete in the competitions: the Welsh-Scottish League, the Celtic League and the European Champions Cup, the Heineken Cup. Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. In the 2014–15 season they won the Pro12 title and became the first Scottish team to win a major trophy in rugby union's professional era. The side is known for its fast, dynamic and attacking style of play, using offloads and quick rucks. Defensively the club prides itself on its 'Fortress Scotstoun' where the club play at home. Dougie Hall
Dougie Hall (born 24 September 1980) is a former Scottish international rugby union player, who played 151 games for the Glasgow Warriors and won 42 caps for Scotland. Background Born in Dingwall, he was educated at Glenalmond College in Perthshire and it was playing for them he was first scouted. Career He debuted for Scotland in the second-half defeat against Wales at the age of 22 in August 2003 (23–9). Hall had already represented Scotland at national under-19 and under-21 levels, before starting a training contract with the Glasgow Caledonians (now Glasgow Warriors) before turning professional in 2002. Guy Perrett
Guy Perrett (born 22 March 1975) is a doctor and former Scotland 'A' international rugby union player who played with Glasgow Rugby, now Glasgow Warriors. His regular playing position was Lock. Perrett's rugby career spanned the amateur and professional era. He received his only Scotland 'A' cap on 5 November 2002 against Romania. Scotland won the match 21-18. Gordon Sykes (born Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors and Ayr, who played at the Tighthead Prop position. Amateur level Sykes played for Ayr RFC. Ben Prescott (born 31 July 1978 in Tripoli, Libya) is a Libyan born Scottish former rugby union player for Glasgow Warriors at the Tighthead Prop position. Amateur career Prescott played for Aberdeen GSFP. He also played for Blackrock College RFC when based in Ireland with Leinster in 2010. Professional career Prescott started playing for Glasgow Warriors in the 2001–02 season under Richie Dixon. Euan Murray
Euan Murray (born 7 August 1980) is a retired Scottish rugby union footballer, whose last club was Pau in the French Top 14. He started his career with Glasgow Warriors before playing for a number of clubs including Northampton Saints, Newcastle Falcons and Worcester Warriors. He also played for the Scotland national team. His usual position was tighthead prop and he was known as a strong scrummager. He is a fundamentalist Christian and throughout his career has decided not to play on Sundays. Dave Hilton (born 3 April 1970 in Bristol, England) is an English-born former Scotland international rugby union player. He was capped 42 times for the Scotland national rugby union team. In his club career he played for Bath Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Bristol. His position of choice is as a prop.
