Commonwealth Stadium
Commonwealth Stadium is an open-air, multipurpose stadium located in the McCauley neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It has a seating capacity of 56,302, making it the largest open-air stadium in Canada. Primarily used for Canadian football, it also hosts athletics, soccer, rugby union and concerts. Construction commenced in 1975 and the venue opened ahead of the 1978 Commonwealth Games (hence its name), replacing the adjacent Clarke Stadium as the home of the Edmonton Eskimos (the Elks' name until 2020). Marcin Urbaś (born September 17, 1976 in Kraków) is a former Polish track and field athlete. He is the Polish record holder for the 200 metres dash with 19.98 seconds. He is now a sprinting coach. Track and field Urbaś is the Polish national record holder over the half-a-lap (19.98 seconds in the semi-final of the 1999 World Championships in Seville, Spain. Urbaś is one of the four Polish athletes who brought the Polish national records in dashes up-to-the global standards: Marian Woronin 10.00 (9.992) over 100 m; Marcin Urbaś 19.98 over 200m; and Tomasz Czubak and Robert Maćkowiak over 400 m, 44.62 and 44.84, respectively. Marlon Devonish
Marlon Ronald Devonish, (born 1 June 1976) is an English former sprinter who competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres. A prodigious relay runner with particular strength as a 'bend' runner, Devonish ran the third leg for the Great Britain quartet which won the 4 x 100 metres at the 2004 Olympic Games, and won four World Championship medals in the same event in 1999, 2005, 2007 and 2009. Early life Devonish attended Caludon Castle School in Coventry. Career He is a member of the Coventry Godiva Harriers athletics club and was coached by Tony Lester. Early in his career he was successful at both 100 and 200-metre distances, winning English Schools and European Junior titles at both, but in later years he concentrated mostly on the longer distance. Kevin Little (born April 3, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa) is a former American athlete, who specialized in sprints. He won the 200-meter race in the 1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Paris, France. He won bronze in the same event in 1989, 1993, and 1999 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Little graduated from Ankeny High School in 1986. He won the state title in the 100-meter dash his senior season and the 200-meter dash both his junior and senior seasons. Christian Malcolm
Christian Sean Malcolm (born 3 June 1979) is a retired Welsh track and field athlete who specialised in the 200 metres. In 2020 he was appointed Head Coach of the British Athletics Olympic Programme. Early life Malcolm was born and was brought up in Newport, where he still lives. He is of Jamaican descent. When Malcolm was 15 years old, he was offered a contract by English football club Nottingham Forest, having had trials earlier with them and Queens Park Rangers as a young forward. In a 1998 interview, Malcolm claimed he chose athletics as in his view it is a "friendlier sport and you're not as likely to get kicked around the pitch". Shawn Crawford
Shawn Crawford (born January 14, 1978) is a retired American sprint athlete. He competed in the 100 meters and 200 meters events. In the 200 meter sprint, Crawford won gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics and silver at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He originally finished 4th in the race but after the 2nd and 3rd-place winners were disqualified, he moved up to a silver. On April 17, 2013, Crawford was suspended for two years for missing out-of-competition drug tests. His coach, Bob Kersee claimed that Crawford retired after the 2012 United States Olympic Trials and USA Track & Field said he filed retirement papers in 2013.
