Reynolds Center
Donald W. Reynolds Center is an 8,355-seat multi-purpose arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Designed by HOK Sport (now known as Populous Co.), the arena opened in 1998 and is named for Donald W. Reynolds. Located on the University of Tulsa campus, it is home to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball, Golden Hurricane basketball and volleyball teams. History The facility's first basketball game took place on December 29, 1998, when the Tulsa Golden Hurricane faced the Cleveland State Vikings. The home team came away with a 79–51 victory in front of a sellout crowd. The Hurricane men's team proceeded to sell-out six of the next seven games played in the Reynolds Center and posted an overall 7–1 record in their inaugural season. 2000–01 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Basketball Team
The 2000–01 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball team represented the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rainbow Warriors, led by head coach Riley Wallace, played their home games at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, as members of the Western Athletic Conference. The Rainbow Warriors finished 5th in the WAC during the regular season, but landed three upset victories in three days during the WAC tournament, finishing with a 78–72 overtime victory over host in the championship game. As WAC tournament champions, Hawaii earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, and were given the 12th seed in the Midwest region. Carl English
Carl Jerome English (born February 2, 1981) is a Canadian former professional basketball player and general manager for the St. John's Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada. A shooting guard, he has also played for the Canadian national team. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, English was a member of the provincial youth team and shone with his local school Fatima Academy, before moving to St. Thomas Aquinas. He spent four seasons at the NCAA Division I level with Hawaii, the first of which he redshirted due to injury. He earned All- WAC accolades in his final two years of college and left with the second-most career three-pointers in school history. The Western Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in men's basketball for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Even though the WAC was founded in 1962, the annual tournament has only been held since 1984. The winner of the tournament is guaranteed a spot in the NCAA basketball tournament every year. Format and host The event has alternated between being hosted at campus sites and neutral sites throughout its history. From the inaugural event in 1984 until 1992 the regular season champion hosted the tournament, but in 1993 and 1994 the event was held at the Delta Center (now Vivint Arena) in Salt Lake City which, although located less than five miles from then-conference member Utah's campus, was considered a neutral site. The 2000–01 Fresno State Bulldogs men's basketball team represented California State University, Fresno during the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Jerry Tarkanian's sixth season at Fresno State. The Bulldogs played their home games at Selland Arena and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 26–7, 13–3 in WAC play to finish in first place. They defeated Tulsa to win the WAC tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
