National Professional Soccer League (1984–2001)
The National Professional Soccer League was a professional indoor soccer league in the US and Canada. It was originally called the American Indoor Soccer Association. History In November 1983, a Kalamazoo, Michigan-based group called Soccer Leagues Unlimited unveiled a plan for an indoor league composed exclusively of American players. The group's president, Bob Lemieux (later AISA commissioner), announced that Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Springfield, Illinois, were on board in what was he said was intended to be a sort of farm system, or developmental league, for the well established Major Indoor Soccer League (1978–92), Major Indoor Soccer League. Dino Delevski
Dino Delevski (born in Skopje, SR Macedonia, SFR Yugoslavia) is an American soccer player of Macedonian descent. Club career In 1996, Delevski graduated from Capitol Hill High School. He was a 1996 All State High School soccer player at Capitol Hill. He attended Oklahoma City University where he was a 1999 Second Team NAIA All American soccer player. On 25 January 2000, Delevski signed with the Wichita Wings of the National Professional Soccer League. During the 2000-2001 (final) season of the league, he made the National Conference team for the 2001 NPSL All-Star Game, held in Buffalo, New York (then home of the Buffalo Blizzard). Richard Chinapoo
Richard Chinapoo (born January 18, 1957) was a Trinidad soccer defender who had an extensive career, primarily in the United States. Chinapoo spent two seasons in the North American Soccer League, eight in the National Professional Soccer League and at least eight in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He also played with the Trinidad and Tobago national team. College Chinapoo first attended college at Trinity College in Trinidad. In 1978, he entered Long Island University in the United States. In addition to his studies, he played on the men’s soccer team from 1978 to 1981, earning second team All-American recognition in 1978, 1979 and 1980. In 1981, he was selected as a first team All-American. Victor Nogueira
Victor Nogueira (born July 17, 1959 in Mozambique) is a retired American soccer goalkeeper. Nogueira spent six seasons in the North American Soccer League, but gained his greatest recognition in over twenty seasons in three indoor leagues, the Major Indoor Soccer League, National Professional Soccer League and the second Major Indoor Soccer League. Nino Da Silva (born May 26, 1979, in Santos, São Paulo) is a Brazilian former professional soccer player. Currently runs an elite youth soccer club in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
