2000–01 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2000–01 season is the fifth in the history of the Glasgow Warriors as a professional side. During this season the young professional side competed as Glasgow Caledonians; the last time they would use that name. The 2000–01 season saw Glasgow Caledonians compete in the competitions: the Welsh-Scottish League and the European Champions Cup, the Heineken Cup for sponsorship reasons. Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. In the 2014–15 season they won the Pro12 title and became the first Scottish team to win a major trophy in rugby union's professional era. The side is known for its fast, dynamic and attacking style of play, using offloads and quick rucks. Defensively the club prides itself on its 'Fortress Scotstoun' where the club play at home. Chris Docherty
Chris Docherty (born 14 November 1976 in Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors at the Hooker position. He played once in the Heineken Cup for Glasgow, in the season 1997-98 against Leicester Tigers, coming off the bench. Glasgow lost the match 90 - 19 in the Quarter Final play-off. He was announced in Glasgow's Heineken Cup squad of 2001 - 02. The Hooker started out his amateur career with Glasgow High Kelvinside. On GHK merge with Glasgow Academicals in 1997 to form the Glasgow Hawks; he played for the new club. Docherty played for the amateur club side Glasgow Hawks and captained them in season 2001 - 02. Colin Stewart (rugby Union)
Colin Stewart (born 6 January 1980 in Bellshill, Scotland) is a former Scotland Under 21 international rugby union player who played with Glasgow Warriors and Border Reivers. His regular playing position was Lock. Starting off playing mini-rugby, Stewart began his rugby career playing for East Kilbride RFC. His potential was spotted by the Glasgow District Rugby Union and he was selected as one of the Glasgow Thistle squad - then essentially an academy squad for Glasgow Warriors - that would receive rugby training in the summer of 1998 in New Zealand. The training was under the ex-Glasgow Warriors boss Kevin Greene. In the season 2000-01 he formally joined Glasgow. For the 2002-03 season Stewart joined Border Reivers. Guy Perrett
Guy Perrett (born 22 March 1975) is a doctor and former Scotland 'A' international rugby union player who played with Glasgow Rugby, now Glasgow Warriors. His regular playing position was Lock. Perrett's rugby career spanned the amateur and professional era. He received his only Scotland 'A' cap on 5 November 2002 against Romania. Scotland won the match 21-18. Early life Perrett was born in Lanark, Scotland. He represented Glasgow Schools in 1992 and 1993 while still with Bearsden Academy. Scott Hutton
Scott Hutton is a Scottish rugby union footballer who played professionally for Glasgow Warriors, and at amateur level for Glasgow High Kelvinside, Glasgow Hawks and Irish side Old Belvedere. His regular playing position is lock. Hutton played for Glasgow High Kelvinside before its merger with Glasgow Academicals formed the Hawks. When Glasgow Hawks was formed in 1997, Hutton began playing for them, winning their first Scottish Cup in 1998. He was captain of the amateur club Glasgow Hawks from 1999-2001. Steve Griffiths (born 4 August 1973 in Morecambe, England) is an English born former Scotland A international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors - then known as Glasgow Caledonians - at the Lock position. Stewart Campbell (born 7 November 1972) is a former Scottish international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Caledonians (now Glasgow Warriors). He played in the Lock position. Campbell started playing amateur rugby for Strathendrick RFC. Moving through amateur clubs he played for West of Scotland, Dundee HSFP and Melrose RFC. Darren Burns (rugby Union)
Darren Burns (born 8 March 1973 in Biggar, Scotland) is a former Scotland A and Scotland 7s international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors. He played in the Lock position. Burns signed for Glasgow Warriors from Edinburgh Rugby in 1999. He was one of the original intake of 36 professional players who were signed by the SRU, and he played for Edinburgh Rugby from 1996. Alan Watt (rugby Union)
Alan Watt (born 10 July 1967) is a former Scotland national rugby union team international rugby union player. He played for Glasgow High Kelvinside, Currie and Hillhead Jordanhill - as well as Glasgow Warriors. Rugby Union career Amateur career Watt was born in Glasgow. Euan Murray
Euan Murray (born 7 August 1980) is a retired Scottish rugby union footballer, whose last club was Pau in the French Top 14. He started his career with Glasgow Warriors before playing for a number of clubs including Northampton Saints, Newcastle Falcons and Worcester Warriors. He also played for the Scotland national team. His usual position was tighthead prop and he was known as a strong scrummager. He is a fundamentalist Christian and throughout his career has decided not to play on Sundays. Dave Hilton (born 3 April 1970 in Bristol, England) is an English-born former Scotland international rugby union player. He was capped 42 times for the Scotland national rugby union team. In his club career he played for Bath Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Bristol. His position of choice is as a prop.
