2000 Sydney To Hobart Yacht Race
The 2000 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, sponsored by Telstra, was the 56th annual running of the "blue water classic" Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. As in past editions of the race, it was hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia based in Sydney, New South Wales. Ludde Ingvall
Ludvig "Ludde" Ingvall (born 8 January 1956) is a Finnish-Australian sailor competing in offshore races. Career In his youth, Ingvall sailed in the Flying Junior, 420 (dinghy), 420 and 505 (dinghy), 505 classes. He participated in the 1985–86 Whitbread Round the World Race as crew and in the 1989–90 Whitbread Round the World Race as skipper. Ingvall won the 1995 Fastnet Race with the yacht ''Nicorette (1989 yacht), Nicorette''. With his second yacht named ''Nicorette (1996 yacht), Nicorette'', he broke the record of fastest monohull yacht over the Atlantic. He also won line honours in the 2000 and 2004 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. In 2016 Ingvall returned to the Sydney to Hobart with a rebuilt and lengthened Nicorette now renamed CQS and crossed the line in 7th position with a time of 2:03:13:12. Kevin Shoebridge is a New Zealand sailor who has sailed in multiple Volvo Ocean Races and America's Cups. In the 1985–86 Whitbread Round the World Race, Shoebridge sailed on board ''Lion New Zealand''. In 1987, Shoebridge joined the New Zealand Challenge for the America's Cup and sailed on board ''KZ 7'' in the 1987 Louis Vuitton Cup. He then returned to sail the 1989–90 Whitbread Round the World Race as a watch leader, on eventual winner ''Steinlager 2'', before winning the 1993–94 Whitbread Round the World Race on '' NZ Endeavour''. ''Team Tyco'' is a Bermudian Volvo Ocean 60 yacht, designed by Farr Yacht Design in 2000, and built by Eric Goetz Custom Sailboats in Rhode Island. John Paul Kostecki (born July 7, 1964) is an American competitive sailor of Polish descent. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He started his sailing career in the San Francisco Bay, California. Events World Championships Kostecki won a number of world champion titles in different sailing classes.
