2000 Connecticut Huskies Men's Soccer Team
The 2000 Connecticut Huskies men's soccer team represented the University of Connecticut during the 2000 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Huskies won their second NCAA title, and third overall when including NSCAA championships. The Huskies were coached by Ray Reid, in his fourth season. They played home games at Morrone Stadium. Connecticut Huskies Men's Soccer
The UConn Huskies men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of Connecticut. The team is a member of the Big East Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). History Connecticut soccer existed prior to 1969, but was not considered a major sport and did not even have a real stadium. However, in 1969, Joe Morrone was hired as head coach, and made significant changes that would make the Huskies a premiere program. He started by building Connecticut Soccer Stadium, which now bears his name as Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. Eventually, in Morrone's words, the team became "the Notre Dame of college soccer". Morrone would ultimately coach the team until he retired in 1994. In 1981, the Huskies won their first NCAA-sanctioned College Cup, defeating Alabama A&M 2–1 in overtime at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California. Pittsburgh Panthers men's soccer is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's soccer (association football) team of the University of Pittsburgh, often referred to as "Pitt", located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Pitt men's soccer competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and plays their home games at Ambrose Urbanic Field in the university's Petersen Sports Complex. Syracuse Orange is the NCAA college soccer team for Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. They are a Division I (NCAA), Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Newton Campus Soccer Field is the on-campus soccer and lacrosse stadium at Boston College in Newton, Massachusetts. The 1,800 person capacity stadium was built in 1999. The current tenants are the Boston College Eagles men's & women's soccer teams and Boston College Eagles women's lacrosse. Renovations Prior to the 2003 season, lights were added to the field. VCU Rams Men's Soccer
The VCU Rams men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Virginia Commonwealth University, an NCAA Division I member school located in the state's capital of Richmond. The team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Since their foundation, the team has won three conference championships, all of which came in the Colonial Athletic Association, and four regular season titles. The Rams have qualified for seven NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championships, most recently coming in 2012. Most of the team's success has come within the last 15 seasons, as they first reached the NCAA Tournament in 1997.
