2000 Canadian Figure Skating Championships
The 2000 Canadian Figure Skating Championships were held on January 26–30, 2000 at the Canadian Airlines Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. They were the figure skating national championship which determines the national champions of Canada. The event was organized by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body. Skaters competed at the senior, junior, and novice levels in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The results of this competition were used to pick the Canadian teams to the 2000 World Championships, the 2000 Four Continents Championships, and the 2000 World Junior Championships. Sheri Moir
Sheri Moir ( ; born September 17, 1981) is a Canadian figure skater. She competed in ice dancing with her cousin Danny Moir. They are the 2001 Canadian national junior silver medalists and placed 11th at the 2001 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. They competed for two seasons on the Junior Grand Prix and placed 11th at the 2001 Nebelhorn Trophy. Following her ice dancing career, Moir switched to synchronized skating. She competes on Canada's NEXXICE team, who won the bronze medal at the 2007 World Synchronized Skating Championships. Moir was born in London, Ontario. Patrice Lauzon
Patrice Lauzon (born November 26, 1975) is a Canadian ice dancing coach and former competitor. With his wife Marie-France Dubreuil, he is a two-time (2006–2007) World silver medalist. Personal life Patrice Lauzon was born in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Cecile and Norman Lauzon. He married Marie-France Dubreuil in August 2008. On December 24, 2010, Dubreuil gave birth to their daughter, Billie-Rose. Competitive career Lauzon initially took figure skating classes to improve his hockey skating. He took up ice dancing at the age of twelve. Early in his career, he competed with Marisa Gravino and Chantal Lefebvre. In 1995, Lauzon teamed up with Marie-France Dubreuil and they placed 6th at their first Canadian Championships. They took the silver medal in their first appearance at Four Continents in 2000. Marie-France Dubreuil (born August 11, 1974) is a Canadian ice dancing coach and former competitor. With her husband Patrice Lauzon, she is a two-time (2006–2007) World Figure Skating Championships, World silver medallist. Personal life Marie-France Dubreuil was born on August 11, 1974, in Montreal, Quebec. She married her Canadian partner and skater Patrice Lauzon in August 2008. On December 24, 2010, she gave birth to their daughter, Billie-Rose. Competitive career When Dubreuil was five, she asked for skating lessons for her birthday and her grandmother gave her skates as a present. She took up ice dancing at the age of ten. The pair of Ekaterina Gordeeva / Sergei Grinkov was one of her influences.
