OTO Awards
''Osobnosť televíznej obrazovky'' (''Television Screen Personality''), more commonly abbreviated as ''OTO'', was a Slovak awards show recognizing the public figures and the work of popular culture in the country. Established by Art Production Agency (APA) in 2000, the television poll-based awards were voted on by the general viewing audiences. The annual ceremonies of the accolades were screened live by the national television network RTVS, usually in March for the previous calendar year. The categories awarded regularly, included Program, Actor, Actress, Male and Female Singer, as well two special awards; Hall of Fame and Absolute ''OTO''. Jozef Pročko
Jozef Pročko (born 13 March 1965) is a Slovak comedian and politician. Since 2020 he has served as a Member of the National Council. Biography Pročko was born in Halič on 13 March 1965. He studied physical education at the Comenius University and acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, graduating in 1994. From 1994 to 1996, Pročko was employed by various TV Channels and the New Scene theatre. He was the first host of ''Koleso Štastia'', the Slovak adaptation of the Wheel of Fortune show. Since 1996 he has been an independent artist, performing and hosting a variety of comedy shows. He is a four-time winner of the OTO Awards in the entertainer category. Starting in the early 2000s, Pročko has operated a cultural centre Zbrojnica in Halič. He also runs a foundation "Jožo Pročko for Children" which organizes summer camps for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and supports victims of domestic abuse. Richard Müller (singer)
Richard Müller (born 6 September 1961) is a Slovak singer, songwriter, and occasional actor. He is one of the most successful singers in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where he has sold more than one million records. Biography He started as a music journalist. In the beginning of the 1980s, while studying the theory of drama and screenplay at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), he started writing for the daily paper and the only specialized periodical at the time, ''Popular'', and, later, for ''Gramorevue''. As a journalist, in his own words, he could get close to the musicians he admired easier. His first song, ''Radio'', was recorded with the Burčiak Pavla Daněka band. The track was very successful in the music chart 5xp, which encouraged Müller to start a band with Martin Karvaš, it was called Banket. Jana Kirschner
Jana Kirschner (born Jana Kirschnerová; 29 December 1978 in Martin) is a Slovak singer, songwriter and multiple award winner across several music genres. In 1996 she released her first album ''Jana Kirschner,'' however, it was her second record ''V cudzom meste'' which brought Jana Kirschner widespread recognition and popularity in Slovakia and later in the Czech Republic. She won four ZAI Awards including the New Artist of the Year (1997), Album and Music Artist of the Year respectively (1999), and Female Singer of the Year (2000).
