1st César Awards
The 1st César Awards ceremony, presented by the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma, honoured the best French films of 1975 and took place on 3 April 1976 at the Palais des congrès in Paris. ''Cookies'' (french: Les Galettes de Pont-Aven, "The Galettes of Pont-Aven") is a French drama film directed by Joël Séria. Plot Henri Serin (Jean-Pierre Marielle) is a middle-aged travelling umbrella salesman from Saumur who lives a sexless and unhappy married life with his puritan wife (Gisèle Grimm) and two children. Painting is the only true passion of Henri but he also has an affection for female buttocks. One night, on the roads of Brittany he hits a boar with his car. Victor Lanoux (18 June 1936 – 4 May 2017) was a French actor best known to English speaking audiences for his role as Ludovic in '' Cousin, Cousine''. Biography Victor Lanoux, born Victor Robert Nataf was the son of a Tunisian Jew from Sfax and a Catholic mother from Normandy. He was evacuated from Paris during the Second World War. Lanoux refers to the name used during his stay in La Chapelle-Taillefert during the French occupation where he lived until the age of 11, when he returned to Paris. He left school at age 14 to become an apprentice varnisher. Jean-Paul Rappeneau (born 8 April 1932) is a French film director and screenwriter. Career He started out in film as an assistant and screenwriter collaborating with Louis Malle on ''Zazie dans le métro (film), Zazie dans le métro'' in 1960 and ''A Very Private Affair, Vie privée'' in 1961. In 1964, he was co-screenwriter for ''L'Homme de Rio'', which starred Jean-Paul Belmondo. The first film that he both wrote and directed was ''A Matter of Resistance'' in 1965. Although it was a great critical and popular success, he did not make another film until 1971, when he directed ''Les Mariés de l'an II'', again starring Belmondo and Marlène Jobert.
