1999 Kansas City Chiefs Season
The 1999 NFL season, 1999 season was the Kansas City Chiefs' 40th in the National Football League (NFL) and their 30th overall. The season began with the promotion of defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham to head coach following the resignation of Marty Schottenheimer after the Chiefs finished with a 7–9 record in 1998 Kansas City Chiefs season, 1998. The team improved on that in 1999, finishing with a 9–7 record, which was good enough for second place in the AFC West. However, the Chiefs were denied the division title and a playoff berth in the final game of the season against the 1999 Oakland Raiders season, Oakland Raiders, when Raiders kicker Joe Nedney kicked a field goal in overtime. AFC West
The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The division has sent teams to the Super Bowl eighteen times beginning with Super Bowl I when the Chiefs played the Green Bay Packers. Joe Nedney
Joseph Thomas Nedney (born March 22, 1973) is a former American football placekicker. Born and raised in San Jose, California, Nedney played college football at San Jose State and signed as an undrafted player with the Miami Dolphins in 1996. He played for the 49ers from 2005 to 2010 after having played for the Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, and Tennessee Titans Early years Nedney was born in San Jose, California and attended Santa Teresa High School. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Gary Stills (born July 11, 1974) is a former American football linebacker who played ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for West Virginia University. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft, and also played for the Baltimore Ravens, St. Louis Rams and Las Vegas Locomotives. Michael Alexander Cloud (born July 1, 1975) is a former American college and professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played college football for Boston College, and was recognized as an All-American.
