The 1999 Holiday Bowl was a college football bowl game played December 29, 1999, in San Diego, California. It was part of the 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season. It featured the Kansas State Wildcats, and the Washington Huskies. Washington scored the first points of the game, after a 39-yard John Anderson field goal, giving Washington an early 3–0 lead. Kansas State responded with a 1-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Beasley, giving KSU a 7–3 lead. John Anderson kicked his second field goal of the game, a 49 yarder, making it 7–6 Kansas State. In the second quarter, Kansas State's Jamie Rheem kicked a 41-yard field goal, increasing Kansas State's lead to 10–6. Big 12 Conference
The Big 12 Conference is a college athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas, USA. It consists of ten full-member universities. It is a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for all sports. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly Division I-A), the higher of two levels of NCAA Division I football competition. 1999 NCAA Division I-A Football Season
The 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season saw Florida State named national champions, defeating Virginia Tech in the BCS Sugar Bowl. Florida State became the first team in history to start out preseason No. 1 and remain there through the entire season. Their 12–0 season gave them 109 victories in the '90s, the most for any decade. Virginia Tech also had a remarkable season behind freshman quarterback Michael Vick, who was being touted as college football's best player. Vick was outshone in the national championship game by Florida State wide receiver Peter Warrick. Warrick had early problems with the law, charged with a misdemeanor he sat out two games early in the season. But he scored three touchdowns in the title game, earning MVP honors. Kansas State Wildcats Football Bowl Games
Kansas () is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka, and its largest city is Wichita. Holiday Bowl
The Holiday Bowl is a post-season NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football bowl game that has been played in San Diego since 1978. San Diego County Credit Union has been the game's title sponsor since 2017, and the bowl has been officially known as the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. Past editions of the bowl were played at San Diego Stadium. Future editions are planned to be played at Petco Park in San Diego, under a five-year arrangement reached in 2021. Petco Park, the baseball park of the San Diego Padres, will be reconfigured to accommodate a football field. San Diego Stadium was demolished beginning in the autumn of 2020. Maurice James Escovilla Shaw (born January 8, 1985) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Manila City Stars of the Pilipinas Super League. In Shaw's early years, he attended Washington Union High School in Fresno County, California.
