1999 Dallas Cowboys Season
The 1999 season was the Dallas Cowboys' 40th in the National Football League (NFL) and second under head coach Chan Gailey. The Cowboys were looking to return to the playoffs, improve on their 10–6 record from the previous season and head to the Super Bowl for the final time in the 1990s. While the Cowboys were unable to repeat as division champions or match their win total from 1998, their 8–8 record enabled them to qualify for the playoffs as a wild-card team. The Cowboys lost to the Minnesota Vikings, ending their season in the opening round of the playoffs for a second consecutive year. Gailey was fired at the end of the season. The Cowboys would not return to the playoffs until 2003. NFC East
The National Football Conference – Eastern Division or NFC East is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Dallas Cowboys (based in Arlington, Texas), New York Giants (based in East Rutherford, New Jersey), Philadelphia Eagles (based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), and the Washington Commanders (based in Landover, Maryland). Nebraska–Omaha Mavericks Football
The Nebraska–Omaha Mavericks football team represented the University of Nebraska Omaha in NCAA Division II college football. The team competed in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association during their last season in 2010. They played their home games at Al F. Caniglia Field in Omaha, Nebraska. On March 25, 2011 the Nebraska Board of Regents voted to disband the team in order to save money for the athletic program, which was transitioning to Division I. Disputed by ESPN. MarTay Jenkins
MarTay Jenkins (born February 28, 1975) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Arizona Cardinals. He also was a member of the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena Football League and the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League. He played college football at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Early years Jenkins was born in Waterloo, Iowa and attended Herbert Hoover High School in Des Moines, Iowa as a freshman and sophomore. Hunndens Guiseppi "Peppi" Zellner (born March 14, 1975) is a former American football player in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals. He played college football at Fort Valley State University. Early years Zellner attended Mary Persons High School, where he lettered in football and basketball. In football, he was an All-Area selection and an All-District selection, and Prep Football Report named him as an All-Dixie selection. Wane Keith McGarity (born September 30, 1976) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist in the National Football League and Canadian Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Texas. Early years McGarity attended Tom C. Clark High School. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. Dat Tan Nguyen (; vi, Nguyễn Tấn Đạt, ; born September 25, 1975) is a former American football linebacker who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for Texas A&M University, and earned All-American honors. He is the first Vietnamese-American to be drafted, play, and be recognized as an All-Pro in the NFL. In 2017, Nguyen was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. Early years Nguyen's family left South Vietnam during the fall of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War, and he was born in a refugee center at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
