The 1999 Chinese Jia-A League season is the sixth season of professional association football and the 38th top-tier overall league season in China. It was named the Pepsi Chinese Jia-A League for sponsorship reasons, while the league started on March 21 and ended on December 5, 1999 and saw Shandong Luneng win the championship. Chinese Jia-A League
The National Football Jia A League ( simplified Chinese, commonly known as Jia-A, was the highest tier of professional football in the People's Republic of China, during 1994 through 2003, operating under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association. The Chinese Professional Football League was established in 1994. Under the direct supervision of the CFA's Professional League Committee, this nationwide league was divided into Divisions 1 and 2. Division 1 was subdivided into Divisions 1A and 1B, Jia A and Jia B, Jia being the Chinese word for top or first. Division 2 was and still is subdivided into regional divisions. Dalian Haichang
Dalian Shide was a professional Chinese football club based in Dalian, Liaoning province, China who played in China's football league system between 1955 and 2012. Their home stadiums were the 55,843 capacity Dalian People's Stadium and then later in 1997 they moved to the 30,776 capacity Jinzhou Stadium. The club was initially founded in 1955 as Dalian Shipyards and made sporadic appearances within the Chinese national leagues until 1982 when the local Dalian government took ownership of the club and renamed it Dalian Football Club. The club won their first major silverware when they won the 1992 domestic cup title. Xie Feng (footballer)
Xie Feng (; born 9 April 1966) is a Chinese former footballer and a manager. Club career Xie’s father, Xie Hongjun (), is a retired footballer who played for Shanghai Team and the Chinese national team. His mother Zheng Yuru () was a sprinter active in the 1950s. Xie Hongjun would move into coaching with the Beijing Youth Team while Xie Feng would progress through the organisation into the senior team by 1988. Initially when Xie Feng started his career at Beijing FC (later renamed Beijing Guoan), he was a striker whose his ability to run 100 metres in 11 seconds was considered a great asset. His speed would be highlighted when he scored against both A.C. Milan and Arsenal in friendlies for Beijing Guoan in 1994 and 1995 respectively. Zhang Enhua
Zhang Enhua (; 28 April 1973 – 29 April 2021) was a Chinese professional football player and coach. As a player, he was a defender from 1994 to 2006 and represented Dalian Wanda FC, Grimsby Town, Tianjin Teda and South China while internationally he was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Club career Dalian Wanda Zhang Enhua began his professional football career when he joined his local native Chinese football team Dalian Wanda FC at the beginning of the 1994 league season. At the club, he would gradually establish himself in defence and help it win the league title. Li Weifeng (; born 1 December 1978) is a Chinese football manager and former international footballer. He is the manager of the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou City FC. Club career Li Weifeng started his football career with Tianjin Locomotive's youth academy before he was spotted by the Chinese national youth program to study football abroad in a training program sponsored by Jianlibao. This then saw him called up to the Chinese under-20 national team and given a chance to play in the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship. Gao Jianbin
Gao , or Gawgaw/Kawkaw, is a city in Mali and the capital of the Gao Region. The city is located on the River Niger, east-southeast of Timbuktu on the left bank at the junction with the Tilemsi valley. For much of its history Gao was an important commercial centre involved in the trans-Saharan trade. Zhang Xiaorui (; born March 5, 1976 in Tianjin) is a Chinese football manager and a former professional player who used to play for Tianjin Teda, Alemannia Aachen, Shanghai Zobon and Shanghai Shenhua. Slobodan Santrac
Slobodan ( sr-Cyrl, Слободан) is a Serbo-Croatian masculine given name which means "free" (''sloboda'' / meaning "freedom, liberty") used among other South Slavs as well. It was coined by Serbian liberal politician Vladimir Jovanović who, inspired by John Stuart Mill's essay ''On Liberty'' baptised his son as Slobodan in 1869 and his daughter Pravda (Justice) in 1871. Su Maozhen (; born 30 July 1972) is a Chinese football coach and former international player. As a player, he spent his whole career with Shandong Luneng as a striker where he won several league and cups with them as well as being a regular for the Chinese national team, playing at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. After his retirement as a player he eventually moved into management where he started off as an assistant before becoming the head coach of the China under-20 national team. Chinese Football Association Jia League
The Chinese Football Association China League (), also known as China League One or Chinese Jia League (中甲联赛), is the second level of professional football in China. Above League One is the Chinese Super League. Prior to the formation of the Chinese Super League, Jia League was known as ''Jia B League''. The then top two levels of Chinese football league were known as ''Jia A League'' and ''Jia B League'' respectively. ''Jia A'' was rebranded as CSL and ''Jia B'' was rebranded as the current Jia League in 2004. Below the Jia League is the Yi League, following the Chinese Heavenly Stems naming convention of numbers.
