Assane N'Diaye (basketball)
Assane N'Diaye (August 1, 1974 – February 13, 2008) was a football defender from Senegal. As well as playing in the centre of defence, N'Diaye was accomplished as a defensive midfielder. His main footballing attributes were mostly physical, his strength and pace in particular, however he also was an unnervingly accurate passer. Elie Mechantaf
Elie Mechantaf ( ar, إيلي مشنتف; born in Beirut, Lebanon on October 5, 1970) is a retired Lebanese professional basketball player. He started his basketball career in the Cypriot Basketball League, before becoming the captain of the Lebanese Hekmeh BC (Sagesse) basketball club, winning the Lebanese Championship for 6 consecutive seasons from 1998 to 2004. Mechantaf was also the team captain of the Lebanon men's national basketball team, Lebanon National Basketball Team from 2000 to 2006, also taking part in the 2002 FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis. He retired in 2008. Now Mchantaf is encouraging basketball in Lebanon through founding his own official club M13 (Mchantaf #13 ). Ghassan Sarkis ( ar, غسان سركيس, born in Bikfaya in 1957) is a Lebanese-French basketball coach who has worked in the Lebanese Basketball League. He became especially famous during his time coaching the Lebanese team Sagesse in its golden years of success of the 1990s and 2000s. He has also coached the Lebanon national basketball team. Biography Born in Bikfaya, Matn, on August 8, 1957, he has 3 children: Karl Sarkis, the basketball player, Ralph, and Stephany. He began his coaching career in 1978, in the midst of the Civil War. Fadi El Khatib ( ar, فادي الخطيب; born January 1, 1979), nicknamed "the Lebanese Tiger", is a Lebanese professional basketball player who plays in the Lebanese Basketball League for Sagesse. El Khatib played for several teams in the Lebanese Basketball League, and also played abroad in Syria, Ukraine and China.
