The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა - lit. National League) is the top division of professional football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017 the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. FC Samtredia ( ka, სკ სამტრედია), commonly known simply as Samtredia, is a Georgia (country), Georgian association football club based in the city of Samtredia. The club gained promotion to Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of Football in Georgia, Georgian football system, after the 2022 season. Their home ground is Erosi Manjgaladze Stadium. Mikhail Ashvetia
Mikheil Ashvetia ( ka, მიხეილ აშვეთია; born 10 November 1977) is a Georgian former footballer. He has played mostly in Georgia and Russia, except for a short spell at FC København in 2001–2002 and a recent spell in Germany with FC Carl Zeiss Jena. In Russia he has played for Alania Vladikavkaz, Lokomotiv Moscow, Rubin Kazan and FC Rostov. While playing for Lokomotiv, he scored a notable Champion League 2003–04 goal against Inter Milan making a score 2–0 for Lokomotiv. His team went ahead and won the game with an impressive 3–0 result. He played for the Georgian national team between 1995 and 2005, and was capped 24 times, scoring five goals. FC Sulori Vani
FC Sulori is a Georgian football club based in the town of Vani. They currently take part in Liga 4, the forth tier of Georgian league system. The team has spent two seasons in the top flight. They play their home games at Grigol Nikoleishvili Stadium. History Sulori became champions of the Georgian Soviet league in 1969. This success enabled the club to participate in the Soviet Second Minor league the next year, which they finished in the 10th place among 18 teams. By claiming seven titles within nine years, Sulori became one of the leading members of the republican league in 1980s. In the same period twice in a row they clinched the Georgian Cup as well. When the national championship was formed, the team won the second division in 1990 and gained promotion to the tier. However, after two seasons they were relegated. FC Kolkheti Khobi
FC Kolkheti Khobi is a Georgian association football club based in the town of Khobi. Following the 2022 season they won promotion to Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian league system. The club has spent several seasons in the top division. History Established in 1936, Kolkheti played many years in Georgian championship during the Soviet Union. In 1988 the club won the title and advanced to the Soviet Second league where the next year they finished in the 5th place. After 1990, when Umaglesi Liga was formed, Kolkheti participated in initial three seasons. Later they spent several years in the second and third divisions. The club returned to the top flight for 1999/2000 season only to finish at the bottom of the table. In 2007, the club rejoined Pirveli Liga, where they played for ten successive seasons. FC Norchi Dinamoeli ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი ნორჩი დინამოელი) is a Georgian football club based in Tbilisi. They play in Erovnuli Liga 2 since they were promoted in 2017. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season.
