Slovenian PrvaLiga
The Slovenian PrvaLiga ( sl, Prva slovenska nogometna liga, ), currently named Prva liga Telemach due to sponsorship reasons, also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, is the top level of the Football in Slovenia, Slovenian football league system. Contested by ten clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL). Seasons typically run from July to May with each team playing 36 matches. The competition was founded in 1991 after Slovenia became an independent country. From 1920 until the end of the 1990–91 season, the Slovenian Republic League was a lower division within the Yugoslav league system. The league is governed by the Football Association of Slovenia. NK Celje, Celje and NK Maribor, Maribor are the only two founding clubs that have never been relegated from the league since its foundation in 1991. NK Primorje
Nogometni klub Primorje ( en, Primorje Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Primorje or simply Primorje, was a Slovenian football club which played in the town of Ajdovščina. After Slovenia's independence in 1991, Primorje spent a total of 18 seasons in the Slovenian PrvaLiga until the club folded following the 2010–11 season when they were, due to high financial debt, unable to obtain competition licences issued by the Football Association of Slovenia. Their best league result was the second place in the 1996–97 and 2001–02 seasons. A successor club was established in June 2011 under the name Nogometno društvo Ajdovščina. Eternal Derby Of Slovenian Football (1962–2004)
The Eternal derby of Slovenian football, simply known as the Eternal derby ( sl, Večni derbi) or Slovenian derby ( sl, Slovenski derbi) was a football rivalry between NK Maribor and NK Olimpija, which was dissolved in 2005. In 2005, a new club under the name of NK Bežigrad was founded and later changed its name to NK Olimpija Ljubljana. Because most of the fans that supported the dissolved Olimpija started to support Bežigrad, the continuation of the rivalry is considered by most Slovenian media and fans as the matches between Maribor and the new Olimpija Ljubljana, established in 2005 as NK Bežigrad.
