1998–99 Cleveland Cavaliers Season
The 1998–99 NBA season was the 29th season of the National Basketball Association in Cleveland, Ohio. On March 23, 1998, the owners of all 29 NBA teams voted 27–2 to reopen the league's collective bargaining agreement, seeking changes to the league's salary cap system, and a ceiling on individual player salaries. The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) opposed to the owners' plan, and wanted raises for players who earned the league's minimum salary. After both sides failed to reach an agreement, the owners called for a lockout, which began on July 1, 1998, putting a hold on all team trades, free agent signings and training camp workouts, and cancelling many NBA regular season and preseason games. Michael Robert Fratello (born February 24, 1947) is an American sports broadcaster and a professional basketball coach. Fratello is currently an analyst for Fox Sports Ohio for the Cavaliers and a part-time color commentator for Fox Sports West for the Clippers when they play on the road. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Zydrunas Ilgauskas ( lt, link=no, Žydrūnas Ilgauskas; ; born June 5, 1975) is a Lithuanian-born American former professional basketball player who played the center position. The 7'3" Ilgauskas played for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association from 1997 to 2010 and played for the Miami Heat during the 2010–11 season. He was named to the 1997–98 All-Rookie First Team and is a two-time NBA All-Star. Ilgauskas played in the 2007 NBA Finals as a member of the Cavaliers. 1999–2000 Los Angeles Clippers Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the Clippers' 30th season in the National Basketball Association, and their 16th season in Los Angeles. The Clippers began playing in their new arena, the Staples Center, and are co-tenants with their crosstown rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. In the 1999 NBA draft, the Clippers selected Lamar Odom from the University of Rhode Island with the fourth overall pick. During the off-season, the team acquired Derek Anderson from the Cleveland Cavaliers, and acquired Eric Murdock from the New Jersey Nets. Wayne Richard Embry (born March 26, 1937) is a retired American basketball player and basketball executive. Embry's 11-year playing career as a center spanned from 1958 to 1969 playing for the Cincinnati Royals, Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, all of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Danny Ferry
Daniel John Willard Ferry (born October 17, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and an All-American college player at Duke University. He most recently served as interim general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans. Cedric Earl Henderson (born March 11, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player who played five seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Career A 6'7" small forward, Henderson starred at the University of Memphis, and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round (45th pick overall) of the 1997 NBA draft. Derek Lamont Anderson (born July 18, 1974) is an American former professional basketball player and current coach. He played eleven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Wesley Lavon Person (born March 28, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After his playing career, Person became a women's basketball assistant coach and then the head men's basketball coach at Enterprise-Ozark Community College. He was fired from the latter position in 2010. Selected by the Phoenix Suns 23rd overall in the 1994 NBA draft out of Auburn University, Person played for seven teams throughout his career. Corie Kasoun Blount (born January 4, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player born in Monrovia, California.
