The 1998 Nike Tour season was the eighth season of the Nike Tour, the PGA Tour's official developmental tour, now known as the Korn Ferry Tour. The top fifteen players on the final money list earned PGA Tour cards for 1999. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 1998 season. Money leaders ''For full rankings, see 1998 Nike Tour graduates.'' The money list was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in U.S. dollars. The top 15 players on the tour earned status to play on the 1999 PGA Tour. Bob Burns (golfer)
Robert Donald Burns (born April 5, 1968) is an American professional golfer. Burns has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Early life Burns was born in Mission Hills, California. Burns went to John F. Kennedy High school located in the San Fernando Valley. Amateur career He attended college at Cal State Northridge and was a member of the golf team. He won All-American honors his junior year, and was the individual medalist at the 1990 NCAA Division II Championship. Professional career Burns turned pro in 1991 and joined the PGA Tour in 1994. During Burns' first month on the PGA Tour, his home in Northridge, California was rocked by the destructive 1994 Northridge earthquake. He ended his rookie season 101st on the money list but failed to qualify for the PGA Tour for 1995 by a single stroke, and spent the next two years on the Nike Tour (now Nationwide Tour). Brian Bateman
Brian Bateman (born February 25, 1973) is an American professional golfer, who played on the PGA Tour. Bateman was born in Monroe, Louisiana. He played collegiately at Louisiana State University (LSU) where he graduated in 1996 with a degree in marketing. He turned professional in 1996. Bateman played on the Nationwide Tour from 1997 to 2001 and 2010 to 2011, winning once. Bateman played on the PGA Tour from 2002 to 2009 after finishing T-32 at Q-school in 2001. Gene Craig Sauers (born August 22, 1962) is an American professional golfer, currently playing on the PGA Tour Champions. He had three wins on the PGA Tour and overcame a deadly skin condition that kept him off the golf course for five years. He won the U.S. Senior Open in 2016, a senior major championship . Thomas Cregg Scherrer (born July 20, 1970) is an American professional golfer. Scherrer was born in Syracuse, New York and grew up in Skaneateles, New York.
